Won a Grade 1 novice at Punchestown in 2016, but he's had rather a mixed record since, although won over fences at Listowel last month, and can be forgiven a poor run in a Grade 2 Chase at Gowran. Risky, but found a good opening here.
Veteran who retained majority of his old ability last season, having won this race in 2016. Not seen since below-par effort in same event a year ago, but solid chance if he is fully wound up.
Consistent performer who has been in good form over hurdles and on the Flat of late, and followed a good second over fences at Sligo with another runners-up spot over hurdles at Gowran. This is much tougher, however.
Has won once in five starts over hurdles, and improved again when third to Fiesole on handicap bow at Tipperary. Up against better horses here, but not dismissed out of hand.
Forecasts
Stooshie (6/4), Don't Touch It (15/8), Eight Till Late (7/2), Hidden Cyclone (7/1)
With Hidden Cyclone absent since running below form in this race a year ago, it's perhaps best to rely on DON'T TOUCH IT, for all he disappointed in a Grade 2 Chase at Gowran last time. Stooshie has something to find, but is going the right way, and is likely to give his running, so can't be ignored.
