Hasn't added to four wins from last year but only just touched off in a Conditions race in France before racing in Listed company last start. Step back up in distance suits but faces competition for the lead.

Won on debut in 2016 and a good second on sole three-year-old start in a race that turned out to be extremely strong. Has obvious potential but has clearly had his problems and big absence to overcome.

Well held in Group company on turf the last twice but much better on an AW surface in which he has won a Group 3. This should prove much more suitable and likely to go close.

Sole win came on an AW surface and has had some good form this campaign with fourth places in the Listed Heron Stakes and a French Group 3. Disappointing at Newmarket and more required against his elders.

Archetype (13/8), Big Challenge (9/4), Convey (3/1), Big Country (7/2), Glendevon (5/1), Spark Plug (5/1)

Verdict

Archetype and Big Country are respected but are best when dominating and with Glendevon also in the line-up there's plenty of competition for the lead. It's interesting that Big Challenge has been kept in training and should be noted in the market. Convey has looked a far better horse on the AW with the 2017 Winter Derby to his name and finished fourth in this year's renewal. SPARK PLUG gets his first run on this surface but should be well suited by the likely fast tempo and based on his luckless Sandown second is well suited by these terms.
  1. Spark Plug
  2. Convey
  3. Big Country
