Didn't seem to improve for the step up to 7f on handicap debut at Sandown last time when a well held fifth. Still early days though and there should be some wiggle room off this mark.

Battled on really gamely to win at Chelmsford (6f, AW) last time off a 4lb lower mark. This is slightly tougher and not sure about this stiff finish over this longer trip.

Three starts of similar levels so far. Goes handicapping off a fair mark and a good chance that the step up to 7f will help too. Yard are having a really good spell and he is interesting.

Returned from a short-break to win at Wolverhampton (7f, AW) when well backed last time. Up 6lb here and obvious claims of further progress.

Made handicap debut in a big-field event at Glorious Goodwood and ran well enough. This is far less competitive and yard do well here. Will be a leading contender if showing any improvement.

Held on well to win a C&D maiden three weeks ago. Starts life in handicaps off a fair mark and every chance there could be further improvement to come.

Not shown a great deal in three starts so far. Goes handicapping off modest mark and there could be some improvement to come. Market check needed.

Won here over 6f off a 4lb lower mark two starts back. Struggled at Lingfield last time and needs to bounce back. Question over this trip to answer too.

Forecasts

Diva D (3/1), Reconnaissance (10/3), Nayslayer (9/2), Red Armour (5/1), Pegasus Bridge (8/1), St Ouen (10/1), Dancing Speed (10/1), Alsimsaam (12/1), All Back To Mine (16/1), Barbara Hepworth (16/1)

Verdict

Diva D justified good market support on handicap debut and is very much respected here under a penalty. Red Armour won a maiden over C&D last time and could show improved form now moving into handicaps. Preference though is for ALSIMSAAM who bumped into a very smart performer last time and should appreciate going up in trip on handicap debut.
