80,000 gns daughter of Camelot who improved for handicap debut when staying on over a mile at Kempton. Extra half furlong a plus and should be competitive.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-6| J: David Probert| T: A M Balding| OR:  64
6/1
Six-race maiden who showed promise at Chelmsford but below that level either side in handicaps. Needs to find extra in first-time blinkers.

Max Guevara23
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-6| J: Joshua Bryan(3)| T: W R Muir| OR:  64

Improved to breakthrough on his ninth start when doing well to quicken off a sedate pace at Ffos Las. Was due to drop in the weights, so rise is halved to 3lb and likely to go well again if handling this surface.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-6| J: Ryan Tate| T: Sir Mark Prescott| OR:  64
5/2
Showed improvement at Kempton when getting stuck wide on the bend and the performance can be upgraded. Extra half furlong should suit and likely to go close in first-time visor.

Already represented three stables in four starts and tailed off in both runs for latest trainer. Very hard to recommend on handicap debut.

Love So Deep10
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: Seamus Cronin(7)| T: R Hannon| OR:  61
12/1
Daughter of Deep Impact who has plenty of stamina in pedigree and was doing best work late when fifth over 7f here on handicap debut. Improvement expected and looks a leading player.

Has been very disappointing in four starts following debut. Big step up in trip may help but has an awful lot to prove at present.

Little promise in four starts to date and needs to find a lot in first-time visor on handicap debut. Best watched at present.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: George Downing| T: H Palmer| OR:  59
12/1
Daughter of Camelot who hasn't really progressed in four starts but extra half furlong may help. Not out of it but others look stronger candidates.

Powerage10
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: Charlie Bennett| T: J Hughes| OR:  59
25/1
Slade Power filly who was well held on handicap debut and now drops 3lb in the weights. Plenty of progress required to be competitive.

Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: J P Fahy| T: A West| OR:  53

Showed promise at Lingfield over 7f but well below that when well held over a mile at Chelmsford. Stamina to prove at this trip and others preferred.

Age: 2|  Weight: 8-8| J: Liam Jones| T: Ollie Pears| OR:  52
40/1
Son of Sir Percy and with plenty of stamina in pedigree this step up from 7f is a positive, however sellling and handicap form so far leaves him some way short.

Diva Bella19
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-5| J: Joey Haynes| T: M P Tregoning| OR:  49
20/1
18,000 guineas daughter of Helmet who has been well beaten at long odds in all three starts to date. This looks a tough mark to overcome on handicap debut and readily overlooked.

Forecasts

Calling The Wind (5/2), Camelot Rakti (3/1), Duke of Yorkie (5/1), Swan Street (6/1), Max Guevara (9/1), Love So Deep (12/1), Freedom And Wheat (12/1), Kahina (12/1), Diva Bella (20/1), Powerage (25/1), Percy Drake (40/1), Made In Lewisham (50/1), Coach Party (50/1)

Verdict

LOVE SO DEEP looked to be crying out for this step up in trip when running well over shorter here and the nicely bred filly was always likely to come into her own over this sort of distance and further. If the application of headgear works then Calling The Wind rates an obvious challenger following an eye-catching run. Max Guevara really clicked for a first success, showing a nice turn of foot in the process and looks an obvious danger. Camelot Rakti is another who should be suited by the extra emphasis on stamina.

  3. Max Guevara
