Ex-French performer has won over hurdles for current connections but yet to produce former performances on the Flat. Others look stronger candidates.
On a competitive enough mark but well beaten on last run of 2017 and didn't impress on return from a year absence. Others look more convincing.
20-race maiden under both codes and tailed off on return to Flat at Brighton following a well-beaten run over hurdles. Hard to enthuse about.
Remains 5lb higher than last winning mark and failed to convince on AW debut at Chelmsford. Plenty of questions to answer at present.
Stayed on strongly when winning over 1m2f at Windsor and a latest third here over a half furlong shorter. Surprise he ran below that over this trip at Lingfield and worth another go at it. Represents last year's winning stable.
Heavy ground defeat can be excused and far better on an AW surface. Up 8lb for win at Newcastle which followed a C&D success and open to more improvement in this sphere.
In decent form earlier in the year when gaining a breakthrough success at Chester, however seems best suited by that track and has suffered heavy defeats the last twice.
Looked to be going the right way earlier in the summer with back-to-back wins but has failed to beat a horse home on his last three starts and has become very disappointing.
Took to the AW when a staying on second at Lingfield over 1m2f but is still a maiden after 18 starts with plenty of placed efforts. Should be competitive again but others look more convincing for win purposes.
Win came over 1m2f at Chelmsford but has tended to do things wrong in the run while remaining competitive since. Slowly away and hung left last start and win chances hang on the change of headgear.
Forecasts
True North (5/2), Sauchiehall Street (7/2), Sicario (6/1), Cheeky Rascal (6/1), Zihaam (11/1), The Otmoor Poet (11/1), Quantatmental (12/1), Canyon City (16/1), Sunglider (20/1), Ice Canyon (25/1)
True North is likely to be popular in the first-time blinkers and should be involved again, however he doesn't look the easiest of rides at present. Sicario raced a bit too freely on his previous start over this distance and does shape as though he really should be suited by it. He looks a leading player but slight preference is for SAUCHIEHALL STREET who has shown a clear preference for a synthetic surface and can overcome the rise in weights over a C&D that is ideal. Cheeky Rascal has had plenty of chances but has clear place possibilities again.
- Sauchiehall Street
- Sicario
- True North
