Capable of good form on his day and has held his own in better company than this. Down to a good mark but justifiably so after two poor runs and stable having a quiet spell.
Likeable performer who has won three handicaps this season. Beaten off this rating on last two starts, but Shane Kelly is back on board and there is a likelihood of a better pace.
Broke through on his fifth start when far too good for lesser opposition. 10lb higher AW mark kicks in and well-beaten since on turf. No surprise to see him back here but he remains hard to evaluate.
Has won her at trips ranging from 8.5f to today's for the trainer's daughter. This looks trickier than recent assignments but the yard's horses are enjoying a tremendous spell.
Tactically versatile and one of the more consistent types in this. Just touched off on AW debut and again weighted to give a good account.
Shock winner on debut (1m) and the race has thrown up future winners including the third and fifth who are both rated in the 80s. Beaten twice since over shorter and now makes handicap debut at a new trip for a trainer feared with this type.
Could be fancied on last season's efforts but tailed off on reappearance after a layoff. That plus a modest AW record make him opposable.
Bred for this surface and the form book proves it. Had less use made of him last time in a slowly run race over 1m6f when he also hung under pressure. Cheekpieces fitted today.
Forecasts
Great Beyond (1/1), Done Deal (11/2), Charlie D (7/1), Rustang (8/1), Groveman (8/1), Amlad (16/1), Barnaby Brook (20/1), Perfect Summer (50/1)
Arguably one of the trickiest races on the card to solve with Sir Mark Prescott saddling the unexposed Done Deal whose debut effort, if taken at face value, puts him on an attractive mark for his handicap debut. Great Beyond is also hard to assess having disposed of a more modest field over C&D in impressive style before blowing out completely back on turf. The prospect of a better gallop will see Rustang in a better light, but this is best left to GROVEMAN who can make the running or sit behind. Charles Hills' runner always performs to a consistent standard and he does not need to improve much to take this.
- Groveman
- Done Deal
