4-36 on the AW, and a 25/1 runner-up over 1m (same mark) here in March; off the track since finishing an eased (tailed-off) last of 11 at Yarmouth (1m, firm) in May.

Found improvement from somewhere of late, winning a 1m Brighton seller for Brian Meehan last month (sold for 4,200gns at the auction), and also placed off this mark on stable debut at Kempton (1m3f) since.

Inching up the weights after regularly finding one stronger, including over this trip at Lingfield (AW) on his penultimate start; slowly away and always behind on turf at Bath on Monday.

Old-timer (4-32 on the AW); continuing to run with credit, and twice placed over C&D in August - headed on the line when beaten a short-head by Dora's Field in a selling handicap (penultimate start).

33/1
97-rated at his best in 2015, but hasn't seen much racing in recent years, leaving the care of Andi Brown after winning at Wolverhampton (1m1f+) in March 2017; 0-3 for Paul Howling.

8/1
13-race maiden (0-8 AW); drops to a career low mark of 59 following a fairly unspectacular midfield finish at Brighton (7f) latest; combination of cheekpieces and a longer trip worth trying.

Ruby's Gem17
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: S De Sousa| T: P J McBride| OR:  52
8/1
12-race maiden; slipped to a career low mark of 52, but that's unsurprising following three poor efforts (7f-1m1f) since mid June; the only obvious positive is the booking of Silvestre De Sousa.

Molten Lava14
Age: 6|  Weight: 8-7| J: William Cox(5)| T: S Gollings| OR:  46

Both wins have come over 1m (in 2015), but back to form with a ½L defeat by Castle Talbot at Yarmouth (1m1f) in August; finished third to Henry Croft over C&D latest, and whilst feasibly treated on AW (8lb lower than on turf), his record is 0-19.

Alucinadob21
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-4| J: Hollie Doyle| T: B R Millman| OR:  47
12/1
Lightly-raced filly; standout best effort came when finishing third on handicap debut at Lingfield (1m2f) last month; seemingly didn't stay 1m4f at Ffos Las latest.

Star Of Assisiv117
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-3| J: Hayley Turner| T: J Ryan| OR:  45
16/1
Seven-race maiden with an unappealing overall profile; connections turn to the visor seeking at least a glimmer of hope for the future.

Forecasts

Contingency Fee (7/2), Intermodal (4/1), Molten Lava (4/1), Carvelas (7/1), Dance Me (8/1), Ruby's Gem (8/1), Alucinado (12/1), Rainbow Jazz (16/1), Star Of Assisi (16/1), Voice of A Leader (33/1), Candesta (50/1)

Verdict

A low-grade contest in which the most appealing option is the in-form CONTINGENCY FEE. He's found improvement from somewhere of late, and has taken the switch from Brian Meehan to Phil McEntee (bought out of a Brighton seller for 4,200gns) in his stride, and this is a realistic race in which to seek a second career win. Others of note are Rainbow Jazz and Molten Lava, although neither horse necessarily appeals as a winner in waiting.
