Irish raider has had a good summer resulting in wins at Fairyhouse and Carlisle in lesser company than this. Heavy ground and trip an excuse last time but still has a stiff task at the weights.

Saaheq14
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-9| J: David Egan| T: M Appleby| OR:  81

Lightly raced type who is unbeaten in two runs for his skilled handler. Has won both with plenty in hand and not overburdened in his hat-trick bid.

Belated Breath40

Has won three times under today's booked rider including a C&D victory in May. 3lb higher than when beaten under a penalty last time but that may have come too soon and she has been given a break since.

Diamond Lady18
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-7| J: Hollie Doyle| T: W Stone| OR:  79| CD

Record of 7-62 and placed 17 times. Goes well here and for today's rider. Has two wins and a second on her last three turf runs off marks below 80. Strong gallop likely so looks primed for a big run.

Has won the last two runnings of this off marks of 82 and 79. Appeared to be peaking last time and that makes her a danger off just 77.

Sole handicap success came off 5lb lower and latest run confirms the handicapper is currently in charge. Good claimer on board.

Becoming frustrating but continues to fall in the weights. Undoubtedly well-handicapped on his juvenile form and rider with a career 9-31 record for the yard has been employed.

Her one disappointing run came here on similar ground to that forecast today. Narrow winner last time when the first two were clear and raised 5lb. Improvement necessary but possible on just her seventh start.

Down to his last winning mark and has won here previously. Stable in form but he is 0-11 at this trip.

Record of 4-33 and has never followed up a victory. Unpenalised for a victory on Saturday but taking on better horses here.

Had proved costly to follow until opening his account when his 7f stamina helped him to victory on testing ground at Carlisle. That will have helped his confidence but this is an entirely different test in terms of opposition and ground.

Socialites Redp14
Age: 5|  Weight: 8-9| J: Theodore Ladd(5)| T: S Dixon| OR:  67| CD

Her last three victories have come over C&D and she appeared to be coming to hand here on penultimate start. Beaten since on ground quicker than ideal but conditions forecast to be fine and she is down to her last winning mark.

Dropped to a class 6 to gain an overdue success off this mark in June. Consistency is not a strong suit and new stable probably have much to learn about him.

Has added another three victories this term and remains below his best marks of 2017. Not disgraced last time and has each-way possibilities.

Verdict

Christian Wall has landed the last two runnings with Syrian Pearl who appeared to be coming to hand on her latest outing. The booking of William Buick for the enigmatic Hans Solo Berger is an intriguing move given the rider's record for the yard. Mick Appleby has Saturday's winner Case Key lining up without a penalty and Saaheq who has breezed to two victories and who is potentially still ahead of the handicapper. C&D winner Socialites Red and Casterbridge are down to their last winning marks, whilst OPERATIVE is well-handicapped, running into form and likes the track so gets the vote with De Sousa booked by his in-form trainer.
  1. Operative
  2. Socialites Red
  3. Saaheq
