Horse A-Z
€2,000 foal; dam an unraced half-sister to hurdle winners Alexander Road (2m3f-3m), Triolet (2m4f) and Twilight Shadow (2m2f); market the best guide; trainer 11-52 (21%) at Sedgefield since 2004.
First foal; dam a 1m Flat winner; 66/1 and keen on debut at Kelso last month (2m, good to firm) when finishing a down the field seventh of ten to Auntie Mary; safely held by Goldencard.
Bought out of the Irish point-to-point scene - a 6/4f winner at Tallow (3m, yielding to soft) in February; eighth foal; closely related to Listed bumper/2m6f hurdle winner Ainsi Va La Vie; found a suitable race for making his rules debut.

Horse silk
6/4
€12,000 three-year-old; showed fairly reasonable form in point-to-points prior to switching to Keith Dalgleish; well supported on rules debut at Kelso last month (2m, good to firm), but came up short when finishing 1½L third to Auntie Mary.
5
Horse silk
80/1
£8,000 four-year-old; pedigree best suited to Flat racing (dam unplaced over 1m in France); weakened and tailed-off on debut at Southwell (2m, good) last month; not the solution.

9/1
€14,000 three-year-old; dam Mighty Star a 2m3f hurdle winner; started 5/4f on debut in a newcomers bumper at Southwell (2m, good) last month, but could only finish 6¾L third to The Rocket Park.
7
Horse silk
100/1
£600 purchase in July 2016; big prices for both starts so far and never able to get competitive; likely back number on seasonal reappearance and a low grade handicap hurdles career awaits.
8
Horse silk
100/1
Cost £7,000 at Doncaster in May; dam a point/3m1f-3m3f hurdle/chase winner; not looked at all straightforward in a couple of runs in bumpers, hence the application of a hood and cheekpieces; very risky proposition.
Third foal; dam dual 6f winner in Greece, later won 2m6f hurdle. Stable 8% in bumpers over past five seasons; market check prudent.

Emma Lamb128
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-5| J: Joe Colliver| T: Jedd O'KeeffeWS
5/1
Half-sister to bumper winner Tom Lamb, and the latest filly out of a fine family line; had wind surgery since finishing just over 5L fifth of ten to Rubytwo at Kelso (2m, good) in May.

Forecasts

Goldencard (6/4), C'Est Le Bonheur (15/8), Emma Lamb (5/1), Rafferty (9/1), Aah Pat (11/1), Darcey's Penny (40/1), Magic Dragon (80/1), Complywithme (100/1), Smart Paco (100/1), Broomey Road (200/1)

Verdict

As always in bumpers the early market moves are worth following. However, without being privy to that knowledge, we'll simply focus on some of the likelier types. C'Est Le Bonheur fits that profile on debut for Grand National winning trainer Dr Richard Newland. His overall record with runners at Sedgefield since 2004 (8-25; 32%) also offers encouragement. A similar statement is also true for the respected Irish handler Stuart Crawford (saddles the newcomer Aah Pat). However, the horse with the best form on offer is the Keith Dalgleish-trained GOLDENCARD. Strong in the market on stable/rules debut at Kelso last month, he ran well in finishing a close third to Auntie Mary.
