Placed off a 6lb higher mark at Redcar (1m2f, good/firm) last August, but has proved a disappointment, on Flat and over hurdles, for current connections. Drops in class after latest run here, but not enough in that to make him of interest.
Won twice over 1m4f on soft ground last summer but form since disappointing, and ran poorly on return from a break at Sandown (1m2f) last month. Could do better back up in trip, but risky.
Well held in a couple of starts for Roger Charlton, and fared no better on debut for new yard at Windsor in August. Open to improvement now handicapping in a hood, but his opening mark looks pretty stiff.
Won twice at a lowly level on AW for Olly Murphy in February, but below form on debut for current yard at Chelmsford last month, and is high enough in the weights even if back to form.
In the frame twice in 2m handicaps here this year, and fairly handicapped on form, but stamina is his strong suit, and he looks vulnerable dropped back in trip now.
Won over hurdles in November for David Pipe, but below form on all three starts for current yard this year, and flattered to finish so close at Windsor last time after dictating pace.
Soundly beaten on first two starts, and while she fared a little better when fifth of 8 in a C&D novice on her latest start, that form isn't nearly good enough to see her feature on handicap bow.
Looked to be getting the hang of things when fourth in a 1m novice at Ripon in August, but he has proved a disappointment upped in trip in handicaps, and a visor is reached for now.
Largely progressive in handicaps, and bounced back from a rare modest run when staying on powerfully to land a C&D event last time. Can be a hard ride, but does respond well to pressure, and leading claims again.
Longstanding maiden who lost his way for Phil McEntee, and while he ran better when fourth at Wolverhampton for new yard last time, he's as likely to go backward as forward from that run.
Looked limited in three runs for Heather Main, and joined current yard after finishing mid-field in a weak seller at Lingfield in May. Makes no great appeal.
Forecasts
Dame Nellie (6/4), Heron (9/4), Simbirsk (14/1), Y Fyn Duw A Fydd (14/1), Ember's Glow (16/1), Broadway Dreams (16/1), Stand Firm (16/1), Tobacco Road (16/1), Avocet (16/1), Multigifted (25/1), De Beau Tant (66/1)
The progressive DAME NELLIE takes some driving, as she showed last time, but she responds well to it, and can gain another success under the impressive Oisin Murphy. Heron is pretty reliable, and has place claims, but is vulnerable unless this becomes a stamina test, while Simbirk is open to improvement now handicapping, but does need to step up a fair bit to defy his opening mark.
- Dame Nellie
- Heron
- Simbirsk
