Had a progressive profile last year and has only had two starts so far this term. Should be approaching peak fitness now and has sound claims of going well.
Something has clicked as he won with something to spare again at Haydock just four days ago. Only races off 1lb higher here and will be a leading player once more if turned out quickly.
Pretty sure there is more talent in the locker than we have seen so far. Finished last of four at Carlisle last time but again the way he travelled through the race would suggest there is more to come. Clearly quirky, but capable.
Winner over C&D two starts back on quick ground but nowhere near that level back here last time. Given a short break now and only 3lb higher than for that win so enters calculations.
Won a Pontefract novice event (1m, heavy) last September, but has been well below that level of form so far this year. Signs last time that improvement may not be far away and another to have claims if on a going day.
Bounced back to form when a very good second here over 1m two starts back. Ran no sort of race when upped to this trip at Redcar last time and hard to know when he'll be in the mood. Player if he is.
Not been with this yard very long but has looked a bit awkward at times over longer trips. Down another 4lb here but needs to show plenty more to be considered.
Best effort so far when only narrowly denied at Chester in a novice event last time. Conditions here are fine and will be a player if able to convert that form back into a handicap.
Five-time winner at this venue including over C&D. Not been in the best of form of late however and that tempers enthusiasm somewhat. 8lb below last winning mark now though so a return to form would be no surprise.
Forecasts
Daawy (11/8), Top Mission (7/2), Unwritten (7/1), Brisk Tempo (17/2), I'm Improving (9/1), County Fair (16/1), Silvery Moon (16/1), Royal Regent (25/1), Gworn (33/1)
You can make a pretty appealing case for all of the runners here to go well for one reason or another. Daawy is in rude health and won nicely again at the weekend. If he turns up here he will be very hard to beat. TOP MISSION should be cherry ripe now after a couple of runs and he remains with real potential off his current mark. If any money arrives for Gworn it will probably be significant in his chase for a sixth course win.
- Top Mission
- Daawy
- Gworn
