Improved form of late and was impressive when bolting up over this C&D last time pulling right away in the closing stages. Handicapper has responded with an 8lb rise but that is not guaranteed to stop him.
Been on the slide since a good effort in the Spring Mile earlier in the year at Doncaster. Well held here over C&D last time having tried to make the running and questions to answer. Cheekpieces on first time.
A winner at Redcar over this trip three starts back but struggled with the rise in the weights since. Handles these conditions well enough but would probably prefer a quicker surface.
In good form of late having won two of his last four. Not quite as good at Beverley last time but that is not a track that would necessarily suit and he could bounce back here. Needs a clear career best to be winning off this mark.
Still looked a little raw but won really well on handicap debut at Newcastle (6f, AW) when last seen back in January. Up in trip off a long absence and handicapper has taken no chances (up 9lb). Interesting to see what market makes of him on return.
Having slowly slipped down the weights he responded well to first-time blinkers when winning at Ffos Las last month. UP 6lb here but chances of going well again if headgear has the same effect.
Made a winning start for his current yard at Doncaster (1¼m, good/soft) in June and has run with credit since. Again his keen nature put paid to his chances here over C&D last time. Sound claims if settling better.
Pulled too hard when a disappointing favourite at Musselburgh and then never on terms at Chester on Saturday having been drawn wide. Capable of better and could bounce back.
Having won at Thirsk on soft ground she found the rise to class 2 company a bit strong last time at Pontefract. This is more suitable and should still be more improvement to come.
Gone close once or twice off this sort of mark so far this summer. Well held through when last of nine at Beverley last time and needs to bounce right back here.
Likes it here and his sole turf win came at this track over 1m. On a fair mark and likely to give it a good go, but just may find a couple of these too good again.
Having plummeted down the weights the first-time visor worked well when only just denied by a well-handicapped rival at Pontefract last time. Races off the same mark here and will be a major player if in the same mood.
Not been seen for almost a year and starts life for a new yard today. Best form is on a quick surface so any rain would be a worry. Tongue-tie goes on first time and market check needed.
Forecasts
Lord Of The Rock (4/1), Falmouth Light (5/1), Saint Equiano (5/1), Explain (7/1), Our Charlie Brown (8/1), Amplification (12/1), Proud Archi (12/1), Queen Penn (14/1), Presidential (14/1), Tough Remedy (20/1), Strong Steps (20/1), Inviolable Spirit (28/1), Invermere (50/1)
An open looking race that can go the well of the well treated EXPLAIN. He was only narrowly denied at Pontefract last week by a well handicapped rival and can make amends here off the same mark. Saint Equiano is on the upgrade and is very much feared. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of Tough Remedy on the return from such a long absence.
- Explain
