Horse A-Z
Cost £19,000 and hails from a yard which tends to do well with their bumper runners. Third at Fakenham on debut in April having looked green, off since and entitled to be in the mix on return.
€15,000 3-y-o, Le Fou gelding. Dam, lightly raced in bumpers, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/modest chaser Little Shilling. Stamina in pedigree.

Point-to-point winner, easily, and runner-up on rules bow at Stratford in June before opening account at Hexham later same month. Returns from a summer break, capable of better things.

Galileo gelding, makes plenty appeal on paper and related to multiple winners, well worth a close look in the betting on debut.
Bushranger gelding that cost 4,000 gns as a two-year-old. Half-brother to 7f winner Born To Fly. Last to finish (beaten almost 30L) in a bumper at Southwell this month on debut.
Son of Redoute's Choice and a half-brother to a number of winning sprinters on the Flat ran with promise when third on debut at Uttoxeter in July. Faded late on there having looked booked for second. More needed but surely more to come.

Doesn't jump off the page profile-wise considering he changed hands for just €4,000 but he's a half-brother to a couple of winning chasers, must improve on form of Fakenham fourth in April to figure when it matters on return to action.
Azamour filly. Sister to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Irish Prophecy. Wears hood on debut and makes some appeal on paper.
Presenting mare who shaped well on her debut at Doncaster (only beaten 11L) in January but turned in a lesser effort over C&D (good to soft) in March and off since. More called for.

Forecasts

Earlofthecotswolds (3/1), Get An Oscar (3/1), Leofric (9/2), Havana Hermano (5/1), Fubar (6/1), Truly Amazing (10/1), Prophets Prayer (12/1), Reader's Choice (14/1), Risk And Co (16/1), Nolans Hotspur (100/1)

Verdict

David O'Meara isn't noted for his bumper runners but Leofric makes fairly decent appeal on paper and needs scrutiny here in what isn’t the strongest finale. If this turns into a speed test, he is well-equipped to have the answers. GET AN OSCAR however boasts the experience and, having scored at Hexham on second bumper start in June, the filly can take the honours here after a summer recess. Earlofthecotswolds was quite green at Fakenham (third) in the spring and could easily have more to offer now for the Twiston-Davies'.
  1. Get An Oscar
  2. Earlofthecotswolds
  3. Leofric
