C&D winner last month, second back here next time and since gone in again at Stratford. Big jump in the ratings now but clearly in rude health and respected.
13-race maiden over fences in Ireland, has shown plenty promise at times but last two efforts in the spring were poor. Must bounce back for new connections and mark a likely guide now.
Uttoxeter hurdles winner in 2016 (lost race in stewards' room) but patchy record in that sphere until decent Huntingdon effort (3m1f, good) in April. Beaten a long way on chase bow at Bangor in May and off since, more needed.
Best of Irish efforts over fences arrived over this trip at Wexford in June (2l second of seven), but didn't run up to that level on stable bow at Newton Abbot in July. Champion jockey stays faithful.
Winner here over 2m1f on good ground in July on second start for this trainer, must put a couple of laboured runs at Sedgefield behind him now however.
His two victories over fences have come off much lower marks and three runs for this yard since leaving Alan King (two over fences) have done little for confidence.
In good form recently, scoring here last month over 2m1f on good ground before runner-up finish at Sedgefield. Up another 4lb (has won from higher marks) and must prove stamina for this trip.
Once promising but no win since December 2016 at Ffos Las and rather lost his way last season, would need to see some positives before supporting.
Bolted up at Cartmel four starts back. Has found life off this 12lb higher mark too tough since but is consistent and likely to give his best once more. Place claims.
Keen-going sort who is slowly falling down the weights. Ran in his weakest race for a while here last month, disappointing that he couldn't do better. Better effort latest at Southwell (3m, good) and now drops right back in trip.
Now 10-years-old, has shaped well enough in pair of recent starts over hurdles but essentially needs more back over fences. Others preferred.
Winning point-to-pointer, 0-5 under rules so far, latest fourth at Worcester a step in the right direction however and not ruled out.
Won nine times in his career but has been struggling to land a blow this summer. Mark is slipping but may struggle to fend off plenty of younger legs in this.
Forecasts
One Forty Seven (9/2), Elkstone (9/2), Ballycamp (5/1), Pink Eyed Pedro (11/2), West Wizard (6/1), Boss Des Mottes (8/1), Hidden Charmer (9/1), Old Salt (12/1), Mille Nautique (16/1), My Renaissance (20/1), Waltz Darling (25/1), Dallas Cowboy (50/1), That's The Deal (50/1)
Elkstone boasts form figures over this C&D of 2212 and needs respecting having seemingly got his act together this summer. He is taking a ratings-hike for a comfortable Stratford win last time though and might be vulnerable now. BOSS DES MOTTES was a winner at this track last month and has backed it up with a solid effort in defeat since at Sedgefield, he should go close back here if his stamina holds out. Ballycamp isn't the most reliable but he went well at Southwell over further and can have a say. Pink Eyed Pedro produced his best effort under rules to date at Worcester and is worth a look on the back of it.
- Boss Des Mottes
- Elkstone
- Pink Eyed Pedro
