Sets a clear standard on latest two Sandown runs with a handicap win and then just not seeing the mile out last time. Poor draw to overcome but likes to run from off the pace.
Hasn't really improved from opening two starts including a Wolverhampton win. Could be involved on best form but needs to bounce back from a below-par run in handicap company at Kempton.
Fairly consistent filly but likes to race prominently and has the widest draw of all to overcome. Stable also run Barristan The Bold.
Made a decent introduction here over a half furlong further when keeping on late. Looked likely to improve for the run but likely to want further rather than this drop back in trip.
Zoffany colt who took a step forward again when running on well for a close handicap second on soft ground over this C&D. Likely to go well again.
Harbour Watch colt that was a cheap purchase at just 800 gns as a foal. Price rose to 9,000 gns as a yearling and 23,000 gns as a two-year-old. Hampered when holding every chance in what was a good debut and rates a leading contender.
Well drawn but remains a 14-race maiden and has failed to beat a horse home in last three starts. Hard to make any sort of case for.
€20,000 yearling who was beaten some way out on Salisbury debut when sent off at long odds. Remains best watched.
Havana Gold filly who fetched £22,000 as a yearling. Not disgraced while never threatening at Chelmsford on recent debut and would need to find significant improvement to be involved.
Daughter of Battle Of Marengo who cost £15,000 as a yearling. Improved from debut when upped to this trip at Longchamp. Place possibilities but needs another step forward.
Daughter of Showcasing who made a satisfactory debut and should improve for this extra furlong. However needs to find plenty extra to feature in this company.
Forecasts
Gabrial The One (6/4), Barristan The Bold (9/4), Water Diviner (13/2), Jensue (10/1), Gabrial The Giant (11/1), Pop The Cork (16/1), Riviera Claire (20/1), The Grey Dancer (25/1), Freesia Gold (33/1), Jojo (33/1), The Fluter (150/1)
Barristan The Bold would be suited by a likely strong pace to overcome his draw and it would be no surprise to see him prevail on the standard he's set recently. POP THE CORK is also drawn wide so will need a bit more luck than he suffered on debut but it was a race full of promise and he's only likely to improve. Gabrial The Giant also shaped well on his first start but may need a stiffer test while Gabrial The One is improving and is respected.
- Pop The Cork
