Well backed to score at Uttoxeter at the weekend and duly delivered, barely coming off the bridle to register an easy success. Drops back in trip here but that's not a concern, and if this doesn't come too quickly, every chance of the follow-up.

Had some very useful form as a novice hurdler but has found life a lot harder in handicaps, and this mark still looks plenty high enough. Not the biggest to be humping big weights either and has a bit on if he's to score.

Just the three wins in 35 starts, better known as a chaser these days and this hurdles mark looks plenty high enough on what he was achieving last year. Not seen out since April and likely to need this (no great record fresh).

Debut for the yard today after being with Tony Martin, has some form at this trip on quick ground this summer but likely to face different conditions today and is hardly well handicapped either. Others preferred.

Been a good servant to the yard over the years and is four times a winner at this track. Far from disgraced here last time but that was over 3m and this simply looks too sharp a test for him these days. Will try hard all the same.

Has been in good form this summer, winning one at Hexham in June and running to that level last time out, but best form has come over further and he's likely to find this a bit on the sharp side.

Another that finds winning hard, just the one in 17 starts so far, but has been in decent form recently with a couple of solid efforts last month. Trip is fine and if the ground keeps drying out a bit, so much the better. Not discounted.

Early days over hurdles for him yet, this only being his fifth start, and has shown that this trip/track are suitable, but hasn't been seen out for well over a year now and chances are he's likely to need this.

Former Godolphin inmate back in the day, fair to say things haven't possibly worked out as expected but does pop up from time to time over hurdles. However, likely to find a few of these too speedy for him and best watched.

Showed a nice turn of foot to settle the issue at Down Royal last time and clearly this trip suits. Drying ground a plus, gets plenty of weight as a 3yo and yard fire winners in here for fun, so a leading player again today.

Forecasts

Equus Millar (6/5), Smiling Eliza (9/4), Miro (15/2), Guido Reni (8/1), Golden Jeffrey (8/1), Jet Master (20/1), Mr Grumpy (28/1), Beau Et Sublime (33/1), Golden Town (33/1), Desert Island Dusk (40/1), Vengeur De Guye (50/1)

Verdict

The two that look well ahead of their marks are Smiling Eliza and EQUUS MILLAR, and choosing between them isn't easy. Preference is just for the Nigel Twiston-Davies inmate who could not have won any easier at the weekend and, given he didn't have much of a race there, the quick reappearance is less of a worry. Smiling Eliza looks a big danger getting all the weight and will be no pushover. Guido Reni may be best of the rest.
