Prolific 21-time winner has won last two at Ffos Las and Catterick, his first two turf wins in the UK having landed five turf wins in South Africa earlier in career. Handicap rising but big chance again with draw a positive for tactics.
7f winner for Richard Hannon hasn't fired in five races this season from 7f-1m. New trip and first-time visor likely more in hope than expectation so others more appealing.
Back-to-back wins at Wolverhampton (AW) and Sandown before a fair third latest at Leicester with a higher mark. Handicapper keeps the pressure on so will be tougher again here.
Dual 5f Lingfield scorer this season under front-running tactics put in best effort since latest when third at Haydock when reverting to that style of racing. Likes to dictate so start crucial to chances which are decent if she can lead.
Quiet campaign but easily her best race of it latest when a strong finishing second at Brighton over 5½f. That run puts her in the mix here although drop back to a sharp 5f and 3lb rise not ideal.
Dual winner this season but two races since a 103 day break midsummer have been disappointing. Handicap still well above last win and overall he's easy to pass over.
Placed in four of her six starts this season although yet to win. Shade disappointing latest at Sandown (fifth) after a hat-trick of seconds. Chance to be involved if returning to form and gets 1lb back.
Only beat four rivals in five starts this season and another poor effort latest when last of seven behind Firenze Rosa here on heavy ground. Hard to fancy.
Three-time winner earlier in the campaign has struggled a little since latest of those successes with handicapper seeming to now have his measure. 3lb out of the handicap here and ground a worry unless drying out.
Won over C&D two starts back on heavy ground although hard to describe the win with very poor visibility. Well beaten latest when seventh to Peggie Sue at Sandown and now faces a thankless task from 15lb out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Captain Lars (9/4), Wotadoll (11/4), Bellevarde (9/2), Algam (15/2), Peggie Sue (10/1), Firenze Rosa (16/1), Spot Lite (18/1), Who Told Jo Jo (20/1), Ghepardo (20/1), Deer Song (100/1)
CAPTAIN LARS boasts a more than enviable record and after convincing wins at Ffos Las and Catterick the last twice he makes plenty of appeal in search of the hat-trick in a race little stronger than either of those contests. Bellevarde is a useful sprinter, especially when leading so is a danger if getting the lead ahead of the selection who has also employed such tactics many times. Ghepardo ran well last time and could have more to come given her light campaign.
- Captain Lars
- Bellevarde
- Ghepardo
