Clearly has the raw ability to be winning off this sort of mark but jumping errors have put a halt to any chance of winning so far. Fell at Newton Abbot two starts back and made too many errors at Stratford last time. Capable if jumping better

Once a smart chaser for Willie Mullins. A declining force these days, but got back to winning ways from reduced mark at Fontwell two starts back. Well held there last time and needs to bounce back.

Had a terrific season in 2017 winning three times on the bounce. Has been in the grip of the handicapper ever since though and is still 8lb higher than for his last win. Returns from a four-month break here and needs to put best foot forward.

Encouraging chase debut when a close third at Market Rasen last month. Didn't seem to stay when upped in trip at Stratford (2m6½f, good) last time. Drtop back in trip looks a good move but needs to bounce back now.

nearly performed a miracle last time when finishing a close second at Newton Abbot despite the saddle slipping three out. That was a sound effort and should go close here off 1lb higher if in the same mood.

Based on hurdles form he is lurking on a dangerous mark. Downside is that he hasn't really taken to fences so whilst the ability is there, others have stronger claims.

Has shown bits and pieces of form that would make this mark look pretty appealing. Two efforts lately though have both been weak and would need to show considerably more before becoming of interest.

Quirky character who is capable on a going day as he has shown winning two of his last three. Up another 5lb here in a slightly better contest but in fine form so can be expected to go well if behaving.

Only two starts so far this year and both have ended in heavy defeats. Pulled hard at Market Rasen last time and impossible to fancy on that evidence.

Tonguee-tie seemed to help when trying to make all back over hurdles last time at Southwell. Only had one start over fences but overall profile of one win in 42 starts tells you the story.

Won a handicap chase at Wexford last year but has been out of form since joining this yard. Blinkers didn't help last time and they are replaced by the returning cheekpieces.

Verdict

Bally Lagan is still above his last winning mark but he's a consistent type and that counts for a lot in this field. JONAGOLD nearly pulled off the impossible last time when his saddle slipped three from home but did well to finish second. He must have sound claims of going well here. Filemon is feared as he clearly has the ability to win off this mark but his jumping has let him down so far.
