Won a maiden on heavy ground in during his time in Ireland but not managed to build on his profile since joining his current yard and has a good bit to prove after fading tamely at Hamilton last month.

Ended a barren spell with a win at Brighton last month and held his form relatively well since. Feasible chance from 2lb above that last winning mark and would be dangerous to omit without a check on the betting.

fair record on the AW surfaces but not so good from a limited number of starts on turf. Others look more convincing on the predicted going.

Wins in his turn and is back on a handy mark. Needs to prove he'll handle the stiff finish but entitled to respect and is a well-handicapped individual who is worth keeping tabs for the time being.

Still a maiden and is starting to become expensive to follow. Has ability but doesn't always find much for pressure. Others look more reliable options given that the ground may turn this into a slog.

Dropped to an attractive mark but not quite been able to exploit the opportunities presented to him. However, he's got sound claims at the weights given that been has dropped another 1lb since his last run and benefits from his rider's 5lb claim.

In good form of late but unable to back up his Musselburgh win when he raced at Doncaster earlier this month and he faces another stiff test from a 3lb higher mark. (Yard won a division of this race in 2016.)

Knocking on the door of late and cannot be discounted in this company when the pick of his form is taken into consideration. Still 5lb above his last winning mark, though, and needs to be at his best to get involved again.

Former inmate of Sir Michael Stoute's, he took time to get over wind surgery but bounced back in good style at Carlisle last time. Yard has a knack of revitalising handicapper and, given he's just 3lb higher, there may be more to come. Shortlisted.

Another on a very workable mark and does actually hold a few of these on recent form. Sound claims of at least making the frame from 5lb below his last winning mark.

Best with a bit of give underfoot and has gone close to living up to his name with two placed efforts from eight starts at this course before now. Never previously won from a mark this high though.

Held his form well this season and has been unlucky not to add to his tally. However, he's never really been at his best when the ground has turned soft, so may not be aided by the predicted state of the ground.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-9| J: D Allan| T: Rebecca Bastiman| OR:  63| D

Handicap mark has plummeted after a series of defeats during the last calendar year but the gelding failed to make an impact in any of his three previous visits to this course and a tough test ahead judging by recent form.

Forecasts

Beverley Bullet (4/1), Keepup Kevin (6/1), Mischief Managed (15/2), Espresso Freddo (15/2), Zeshov (10/1), Archie (10/1), Desert Dream (10/1), Twin Appeal (12/1), Outer Space (12/1), Equiano Springs (12/1), Kupa River (16/1), Somewhere Secret (20/1), Gibeno (28/1), Roaring Forties (40/1)

Verdict

Not the strongest of handicaps and much depends on the state of the ground. A drying breeze may help SOMEWHERE SECRET take advantage of a very attractive mark and he just edges the nomination as the one to be on. The equally well-handicapped Desert Dream and Outer Space are a couple of others that merit closer inspection, while Archie doesn't have too much to find despite being 2lb above his last winning rating. Each-way support for Equiano Springs could also be rewarding.
  1. Somewhere Secret
  2. Desert Dream
  3. Outer Space
