Shown a liking for this course and will appreciate the drop back to the minimum trip after not quite getting home over 6f at Newcastle last time. Interesting back in a race like this but no easy task giving weight away all round. (Drawn well.)
Not shown much in two previous starts and has a lot to prove. Disconcerting that he refused to enter the stalls for an engagement at Newcastle last month and is probably safe to leave out of the betting plans just now.
Benefits from a decent draw for a front-runner and looks worth another try over 5f after a series of fair efforts over slightly further. Sound claims under a skillful 5lb claimer, who rode a winner for this yard last week. Shortlisted.
Getting the hang of things now and comes into this after a solid (and much improved) effort over C&D last month - gave weight and over a 2L beating to Dancing Rave in the process. Leading contender.
Only recorded a modest level of form so far and lacks the scope held by one or two of the others. Best watched.
Cost £16,000 and is possibly the more likely of the stable's pair of debutantes. The betting market can guide here.
Cost just £6,000 but some appeal on pedigree (by Equiano and out of an Avonbridge mare). Jockey bookings suggest Midnight In Havana will be the preferred option from his yard's duo.
Slow to start in a seller at Ripon last time out and already seems to be on the back-foot. Others more appealing.
Yard going well and intersting to see how the market reacts to this 10,000 gns purchase, who is a well-bred individual. Worth a betting check but lacks the experience of her stablemate, Magical Spirit.
Forecasts
Dancing Rave (13/8), Haadhir (2/1), Magical Spirit (4/1), Midnight In Havana (12/1), Power Rush (12/1), Timetodock (16/1), Melgate Magic (28/1), Neigh Dramas (40/1), Bungle Billy (100/1)
The drop in trip could be a crucial factor for Haadhir, who makes plenty of appeal on form up to press. However, there is also likely to be a bit more to come from MAGICAL SPIRIT, who caught the eye over C&D last time and is taken to take a further step forward. Dancing Rave has a bit to find with the selection but is still learning and would be dangerous to underestimate.
- Magical Spirit
- Haadhir
- Dancing Rave
