Has fallen 9lb in the weights since joining this yard for £15,000 from David Barron, and back on track after a break when fourth of 13 to She's Royal over 7f here last time. More needed, but should be competitive if coming on for that outing.
Not discredited when fourth here on penultimate start, but failed to justify strong market support at Carlisle last time, and now tried in cheekpieces.
Without a win since scoring at Southwell (5f) on debut in April 2016, but best effort in a while when third to She's Royal here last time, and seemsat least as effective at this longer trip, so one to bear in mind.
Had been struggling, but seemed to benefit from the fitting of blinkers when winning a 7f handicap here last time from Supaulette. Every chance of defying a 4lb rise if headgear continues to have a positive effect.
Respected on the form of her second at Pontefract in August, but just respectable efforts in two starts since, albeit in higher class. Should benefit from the return to Tapeta and 0-60 company, having won twice over C&D in 2016.
Running well enough in defeat to suggest he can take a hand off his present mark, but doesn't always look the hearties of battlers under pressure, and opposable as a result.
Some promise in a trio of qualifying runs, but mark is stiff on balance, and he ran poorly on his first outing in handicaps here (7f) earlier in the month. Must leave that behind.
Couldn't manage a win for Gordon Elliott, and was soundly beaten on debut for current yard at Wolverhampton last month. Should be fitter now, but still makes limited appeal.
Hinted at ability on debut forBrian Ellison, but beaten 20L+ on both starts for current connections this year, albeit not given a hard time. Wears a hood for handicap debut, and market will be informative.
Won at Nottingham in June, and on a feasible mark if back to that form, but he's run poorly on five of six subsequent starts, and clearly has questions to answer at present.
Maiden after ten starts but did show a bit more when fourth at Hamilton last month, making most and only giving way late on. Couldn't repeat that form at Carlisle last time, however, and others preferred again.
Has regressed since a promising racecourse bow at Thirsk last year for Phil Kirby. Did a bit better when sixth of 9 to Mr Strutter on handicap debut at Catterick (6f) last time, but was never really in the hunt there, and still has a bit to prove.
Forecasts
Sumner Beach (3/1), Totally Magic (7/2), Harry George (9/2), She's Royal (11/2), Ronnie The Rooster (15/2), Majeste (9/1), Justice Pleasing (12/1), Jazz Magic (14/1), Silverlight (33/1), Foxy Rebel (50/1), Jock Talk (66/1), Make It Simple (66/1)
A rather mixed bunch. SUMNER BEACH has been disappointing but the handicapper has given him a chance, and he hinted strongly at a revival when third to She's Royal over 7f here last time . The longer trip will help, and he's fancied to reverse form with that rival now. Totally Magic has been a little quiet of late, but drops markedly in class, and this dual C&D winner should be more competitive as a result.
- Sumner Beach
- Totally Magic
- She's Royal
