Gelded full brother to Group 1 winner Maybe, made a very late racecourse bow at Windsor recently and went close to winning, finishing a good third. Big chance if able to build on that effort and make up for lost time

Landed two-mile handicap hurdle at Worcester in July then distant third in AW Flat maiden last time. Debuts on turf and probably needs to raise his game to figure.

Three-time hurdles winner last seen finishing good second in Pertemps Hurdle qualifier at Cheltenham in October. Likely to be in need of this run on Flat turf after 11 months off.

Beaten in four bumpers prior to turning his attentions to the Flat. Some way behind in both starts at around a mile, and while longer trip should suit this looks to be biting off more than he can chew.

Superby bred Frankel gelding whose Group 2-winning dam is a half-sister to Dubawi. Made a wining debut at Ffos Las earlier this month in 1m4f maiden, staying on well to score with something in hand. Could be more to come and has leading claims.

Bahamian Bounty gelding who finished last on both starts for Sylvester Kirk last year. Has long absence to overcome and looks of little ability in last term's evidence.

Winner of two hurdles and a bumper, and scored over timber at Kempton in May. Refused to race at Worcester two weeks ago so switches to the Flat turf for the first time. Hard to get too excited about her chances.

Makes Flat debut having failed to cut much in five NH starts, including in bumpers and a couple of hurdles. Should stay but may find this a little too hot to handle.

Went close in a Wetherby bumper on racecourse bow last December but form tailed off in three subsequent outings. Retuns from wind surgery and makes Flat debut so probably best watched for the time being.

Zoffany gelding representing in-form yard. Fair sixth in maiden at Leicester on debut in June over a mlie then appeared not to stay 1m5f last time. Eases back a furlong but still questions to answer over the trip.

Teofilo filly who was very easy to back but ran well when close fourth in modest Haydock novice stakes over 1m3f in June. May have needed time to get over that but yard in form now and well worth checking for any positive vibes.

Pivotal filly out of winning dam who stayed up to 1m6f. Makes raceourse bow here, and while yard can get them ready for debut will probably need a few runs to reach concert pitch.

100,000 guineas New Approach filly out of 1m4f listed winner. Looked very green on debut at Kempton in July but hinted at ability, then did better last time when third in fair event at Haydock. Going the right way and certainly has place claims.

Forecasts

Outbox (8/11), Forest View (5/2), Lilypad (7/1), Celtic Chieftain (16/1), Haafapiece (25/1), Delice (25/1), Imperial Court (40/1), Goscote (40/1), Milrow (66/1), Canoodle (100/1), Perfect Myth (100/1), Nevada (100/1), Far Cry (100/1), True Gentleman (100/1)

Verdict

It wouldn't have been the best race in the world that OUTBOX landed on debut at Ffos Las but this very well bred gelding did it nicely and there could be more to come. Lilypad is going the right way and should be thereabouts, while Celtic Cheiftain, who made a very late racecourse debut at Windsor recently, showed a lot of promise and is certainly one to consider. Forest View and the debutante Goscote are others of interest.
  1. Outbox
  2. Celtic Chieftain
  3. Lilypad
