Very nicely treated on his best form, but not as good these days. Goes on any ground over 6f/7f, and is a dual C&D winner. Should be very competitive from this mark in this grade, so not ruled out.
Trip and conditions suit. 6lb higher than when winning at Thirsk last month. Has run respectably from 1lb higher than this on both subsequent starts, but more needed for him to score here.
Multiple winner, including over C&D (soft) last time, when 3lb lower. Was good enough to win from significantly higher last year, but doesn't appear to have that ability now. Respected nonetheless.
Sole win came in a Catterick maiden (6f, soft) last year. Went close at Epsom in an handicap from 16lb higher, but has been unable to show anything like that level of form since. Slipping to handier marks with each run, but needs to take advantage.
Goes well on soft ground over 6f/7f. Without a win since October 2016 and now 18lb lower. Not seen enough lately to get excited about his chance here.
The last of his three turf wins came in 2014. Acts on soft ground and is 2lb lower than when being beaten 3L at Thirsk (6f, soft) two starts ago, suggesting that he will again be found wanting here.
Sole win was on AW for Paul D'Arcy almost two years ago, but record reads 1-37. Has run well in all his last three starts on turf, two of them over C&D. Handles soft, and 1lb drop should ensure that he is again in the mix.
2-32. Finished ½L behind Vallarta (now 2lb better off with him) here last time (6f, soft). A repeat effort would give him every chance, but consistency is not a strong suit, so he does carry risks.
All three of her wins have been here over 5f/6f. Not ground dependent. 5lb lower than her last win, last season, but badly out of sorts lately.
Dual 5f winner here, including on soft. Feasibly treated to run a big race judged on his winning marks, but form has tailed off this year and he is hard to fancy at present.

Forecasts
Benjamin Thomas (7/2), Rockley Point (9/2), Sir Domino (5/1), Alfie's Angel (5/1), Vallarta (8/1), Lucky Lodge (8/1), Khelman (10/1), Knockamany Bends (22/1), Red Forever (33/1), Dutch Dream (50/1), Evanescent (66/1)
Another poor race, where few have strong recent form. Vallarta therefore merits plenty of respect as a last-time winner, while Sir Domino therefore has to enter calculations, now 2lb better off. Khelman is interesting at the top of the list, along with Alfie's Angel. However, in such a weak race if might be worth taking a pot shot with BENJAMIN THOMAS, who acts on soft ground and may have finally slipped to a mark from which he can again be effective.
- Benjamin Thomas
- Khelman
- Alfie's Angel
