Long time since he showed any worthwhile form, and of no interest despite fitting of a visor here, having been beaten 28L at Catterick last week.
Won 1m handicap at Yarmouth in July, and not discredited in two starts since. Been found a good opening given her ability here, and sure to give a good account.
Handicapper seems in charge, but he has produced several respectable efforts this season, notably when third in an amateur handicap at Thirsk (7f) last month. One to consider in a weak contest.
Second over 6f at Wolverhampton in July, and not discredited there the last twice, but recent turf efforts have been modest at best, and he's opposable on balance here.
Longstanding maiden who was probably flattered to finish as close as she did at Newcastle last time, and is easy enough to take on, even if that form taken at face value.
Has managed to beat a solitary rival on each of his three starts to date, and appears very limited on early evidence. Blinkers reached form, but makes no appeal.
Looked fairly limited for Robert Tyner in Ireland, but showed some improvement on first start for current yard when second of 9 to Makawee in 1½m handicap at Musselburgh last time. Drop back in trip is a worry here, but needs respect.
Best effort when second in a seller at Leicester in July for David O'Meara, and made a satisfactory start for current yard when front-running fourth at Lingfield. Tongue tie she wore there left off, but still worthy of attention.
Shaped quite well on racecourse bow at Ayr last year, but soundly beaten on all three subsequent starts, and a wind operation didn't seem to benefit her last time.
Standout effort last year came in the mud, and a rapidly falling mark has not been enough to halt his decline this time around. Failed to stay (bred that way) on latest start, and something to prove now.
Forecasts
Lily Ash (5/2), Don't Do It (5/2), Size Matters (11/4), Unnoticed (9/1), Moretti (12/1), Se You (22/1), Safrani (25/1), Carlton Thomas (33/1), Angie B (40/1), Arizona Sunrise (100/1)
This is stronger than the first division, although that's faint praise, and LILY ASH makes most appeal given her solid profile. Moretti didn't do badly under a change of tactics last time, and is considered along with the consistent Size Matters. Don't Do It should win races for Iain Jardine, but this drop in trip isn't ideal, and he'll have other opportunities from his basement mark.
- Lily Ash
- Moretti
