Scored from 5lb lower at Sandown (7f, good to firm) two starts ago. Disappointed when last at Chelmsford (1m, AW) last time, but this looks more like his trip and company for the moment. Better effort possible.
Won off this mark at Ascot (7f, good to soft) in October. Has wind surgery prior to next run and is 0-4 since then. Signs of a revival at Goodwood last time. Drops in grade here and could go well, though has it to prove on good to firm.
Trip/ground suit. 3lb higher than when winning at Newmarket in a similar race in May. Has run with credit back there on his last two starts. Drops in grade and not ruled out.
Has won over 7f/1m on good/soft ground. Not disgraced on seasonal return at Windsor in June, but well held at Goodwood last time. Starts for a new trainer today, dropping 3lb. Market may guide on whether that can spark a revival.
Scored at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) in June, when 8lb lower. Has since run well several times, including over C&D in this grade, without winning. Drops 1lb and tongue-tied here. Should be thereabouts.
Listed winner who arrives on the back of a Musselburgh handicap win in this grade last time, when making all from 1lb lower. Should give a good account in her follow-up bid, with trip/ground no problem.
Has been taken out due to unsuitable ground on the last three occasions she has been declared on good to firm. It was good when she scored over this trip from 2lb lower at Epsom last month. More needed in a better race here.
Won a 0-85 at Ascot (7f, good to firm) two starts ago, when 5lb lower. Latest defeat at Kempton from this mark was inconclusive in terms of whether he is now exposed, as he didn't get the clearest of runs. Not written off, but more needed.
Forecasts
Mountain Rescue (10/3), Perfect Hustler (7/2), Mukalal (9/2), Flavius Titus (11/2), Race Day (15/2), Rebel Assault (8/1), Poets Dream (9/1), Dance Teacher (33/1)
A competitive look to this on paper. Mukalai looks capable of a big effort, though there is a slight concern over his ability to handle this faster ground. That is not the case with FLAVIUS TITUS, who may benefit from being tongue-tied here and is on a very competitive mark. The latter applies to Mountain Rescue, who is respected, while Race Day is not ruled out and Rebel Assault should again be capable of having a say.
- Flavius Titus
- Mountain Rescue
- Race Day
