Best effort when winning a 6f novice at Ayr last month, and again first past the post at Thirsk last time, only to be demoted for interference. Has more to offer, but set a stiff task in pattern company.

Has won all three starts in minor company, but seemingly found out when stepped up in class in Windsor Castle and Vintage Stakes at the big meetings. Back on track last time, but others stronger here.

Standout effort when winning novice at Windsor in July by 10L, but wasn't able to match that when 1¾L sixth of 7 to Sporting Chance in listed race at Ripon last time, albeit looking unsuited by the track.

There or thereabouts in pattern company since winning a maiden at Newmarket in May, most recently when fourth in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood. This is easier, and he should go close.

Quiet Endeavour24
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: Edward Greatrex| T: A Watson| OR:  101| CD
11/10
Progressing all the time from modest beginnings, and very impressive when winning a C&D nursery last time by 2¾L from Leoube, making all. Hard to catch if getting loose again here.

Forecasts

Quiet Endeavour (11/10), Konchek (5/2), Junius Brutus (3/1), Kessaar (9/1), Fuente (25/1)

Verdict

Konchek can't be crabbed for his consistency, and arguably deserves to bag a prize like this. He's sure to go well, but cannot afford to concede first run to QUIET ENDEAVOUR, who bolted up in a nursery here on her latest start, and is boxed to make a bold bid from the front again. Kessaar had excuses when below form at Ripon last time, and is best of the rest.
  1. Quiet Endeavour
  2. Konchek
  3. Kessaar
