Won off 2lb lower at Pontefract (5f) in July, but has found life harder since. Not disgraced under a more patient ride at York last time, but needs to find best form to score off current rating.
Not quite at best since winning over 6f at Pontefract in July, but not discredited when 2¾L fifth of 7 to Breanski at Doncaster last time, and shouldn't be far away on balance of form.
Has improved since joining current yard from Ireland, scoring at Beverley in April and stepping up on that to win 15-runner handicap at Hamilton following month. Didn't get the run of the race at Sandown at the weekend, and likely to be sharper now.
Winner of a similar event at Yarmouth in July, and matched that form when a close third to Pour La Victoire at Brighton on Sunday. This is a fair bit tougher, but he's proving reliable, and isn't dismissed out of hand.
Veteran who tends to go well here, and back to winning ways at Chester in July. Still 4lb above that mark despite three subsequent defeats, the most recent a rare poor effort.
Missed 2017 and below form on both starts this season, although wasn't disgraced when twelfth of 20 to Gunmetal in Great St Wilfrid at Ripon last time. Both wins since 2013 have come here.

Eastern Impact is clearly capable of breaking a long drought off his current mark, and shaped as such in blinkers at York, but preference is for the thriving RAPID APPLAUSE, who finished with running left after an unfortunate run at Sandown on Saturday, and who will appreciate the return to 6f on that showing. Ower Fly is reliable, and should be thereabouts once more.
