Made all when comfortably winning at Bangor at the start of this month. Carries 6lb more but not unduly punished on the pick of his form. Likes this course but still needs a career best to prevail under topweight.
Lightly raced and posted a fair effort on his first start since wind surgery when third of six at Worcester last month. Missed a couple of engagements since but likely to be fitter with a run behind him so has to merit a check in the betting.
Consistent gelding that backed up a win in a selling hurdle with a success back over fences at Perth at the start of this month. Up 5lb for that win and this looks a good deal more competitive, but still respected as an in-form contender.
Well into the veteran stage of his career but is on a very handy mark in comparison to his past ratings. He may well appreciate this ease in grade and it's very feasible the gelding can uphold the recent form with a few these. Sound claims.
Swapped hands twice after two selling grade wins over hurdles. Still maintained his resurgent form with a chase victory last time out and adds further spice from to a competitive heat. Just 4lb higher, so another that merits close inspection.
Patiently ridden when third behind Volvalien at Bangor last time and work to do to reverse the form. A 6lb pull at the weights may not be enough of a lure on a literal reading of the form.
Been mainly in good form this season and gained a justified win over fences at Market Rasen last time out. This does look a lot tougher and he may find life a good deal harder under 7lb more this time around.
Forecasts
Ink Master (11/4), Golden Vision (11/4), Volvalien (5/1), Boss Des Mottes (6/1), Old Salt (13/2), Lord Ben (11/1), My Renaissance (14/1)
Several of these have been in good heart and there wouldn't be much between old rivals Ink Master, Volvalien, and My Renaissance judging by a recent encounter. However, LORD BEN had all those rivals in behind him on that occasion and, given his run of good performances, it would be no surprise to see the bold stager uphold the form in good style. Golden Vision needs to prove his well being but it would also be noteworthy to note if he attracts the interest of the betting public too. Old Salt is a further contender who shouldn't be dismissed too lightly.
- Lord Ben
- Ink Master
- Volvalien
