3-23, and steps up to this trip for the first time here. Handles soft ground, takes slight drop in grade and sports new headgear combination. Bit to prove.
Has won four times from 7f-1m, including on soft at Pontefract over the latter trip in May, from this mark. Has had some tougher assignments and not always his conditions since then, but looks interesting from a good draw today.
Scored on soft (7f) in France last year. Changed hands for €16,000 prior to recent stable debut, but never involved there. Needs a big improvement on that from same mark.
Made all to win a Pontefract handicap (6f, good to firm) from 3lb lower last month and went well from this mark at Catterick (7f) next time. Below par latest at Redcar, but each-way claims if he can bounce back.
Ground has come right for this four-time winner, who should be well suited by this stiff track and 7f. 2lb lower than his last win, at Beverley almost a year ago. Back in better form last time. Claims.
The latest of his 11 wins came here in the Carlisle Bell Consolation Race (1m, good to soft) last year, when 4lb higher. Well below that level in his last five starts, drawn wide, and others preferred.
Enjoyed a good spell last autumn, going close twice before winning over this trip at Redcar (soft). Well beaten on reappearance at Ayr three weeks ago. Cheekpieces now fitted. Unexposed, but a little to prove nonetheless.
Goes well on soft ground. 6lb lower than when last scoring at Pontefract (6f, heavy) in September. Form this season significantly below that level, but sees out this trip and couldn't rule out a big effort from what is a handy mark.
Is 2-4 at this venue, scoring over C&D and then 6f in an 11-day spell in June (good/good to firm). Handles some cut, though form on genuine soft ground not quite as strong. Well held from this mark latest. Bit to prove.
Continues to make steady improvement and broke her duck at the seventh attempt in a Hamilton handicap (1m½f, good) last time, when 4lb lower. Did that with some authority. Handles cut and should be competitive in this better race.
Goes well on good ground or softer and at this venue. Should again be very competitive from this mark (beaten 1L from it at Ayr last time), but needs to eek out more for a fifth career win.
Dual winner here, over C&D and 1m1f, both on testing ground. Remains 2lb higher than the more recent of those 11-months ago. Went close from this mark at Beverley last month, but found wanting since. Couldn't rule out a revival at this track.
Forecasts
Beverley Bullet (7/2), Reinforced (4/1), Intense Style (6/1), Dalawyna (13/2), Inexes (7/1), Uncle Charlie (17/2), Showboating (14/1), King Robert (14/1), Mutarakez (25/1), Up Sticks And Go (25/1), Etikaal (33/1), Zorawar (40/1)
An open heat, where mudlarks Beverley Bullet, Reinforced and Intense Style should all be capable of decent efforts. Dalawyna is entitled to respect, along with Mutarakez from a good draw. However, Marjorie Fife has her team in decent nick and INEXES, who also goes well on soft ground, could be worth chancing from what is now a handy mark.
- Inexes
- Mutarakez
- Intense Style
