Scored last time out in a Beverley novice event (7½f, good). Improving, and although this initial mark will demand more from him, he may be able to find it. Sire handled cut in the ground.
Encouraging that the best of his three novice runs came here over 6f (good) in June, on his second start. Not disgraced despite beaten favourite over this trip at Musselburgh last time and not ruled out from this mark on nursery debut.
Inconsistent so far, but produced his best so far when 1¾L third at Nottingham (6f, good to soft) last time. Stayed on there, so this extra furlong may well suit. Same mark, and should be competitive.
Has posted four similar efforts so far, the latest of them being good enough to get him off the mark in a Thirsk novice event (7f, soft). Up just 1lb for that, and looking more exposed than some already, so more needed to follow-up.
Made significant improvement on her two previous runs when 4L fourth of seven at Haydock, on being stepped up to this trip, last time. Unraced on soft, so has to prove she handles it, but may have got in lightly for nursery debut. Claims.
Improving with each run. 50-1 when 7L second at Beverley (7½f, good to soft) last time. Will need more from this initial mark, and others have stronger cases.
Making some improvement despite being held in all three starts so far. Initial mark looks stiff on what he has achieved. Looks best watched.
Has gone off at big odds and not got competitive in three starts. Initial mark looks reasonable, but up against it in this field on nursery introduction.
Forecasts
Dream Poet (2/1), Stronsay (4/1), Illusions (4/1), Flint Hill (7/1), Abie's Hollow (8/1), Mister Dependable (9/1), Cawthorne Lad (25/1), Sinndarella (40/1)
Dream Poet arrives in good form and is entitled to claims despite top weight, while Flint Hill has shown that he acts here and also has decent credentials. Mister Dependable and Stronsay both make some appeal, but the filly ILLUSIONS may have got in a little light here, and in the hope that she will handle soft ground, she gets the nod.
- Illusions
- Dream Poet
- Flint Hill
