Scored over C&D when 25-1 last month, before being runner-up (beaten less than 2L) again here last time. Needs to pull out more, but not ruled out.

Has scored over 6f/7f, the latter on soft. Not beaten far at Nottingham (1m½f, good to soft) in April. Goes well fresh and is of interest here from a good draw, after a 1lb drop.

Best form has been at Beverley over 1m2f, on good to firm. However, won under this pilot at Nottingham in a similar race last time. Drop in trip to stiff 1m not certain to suit, but worth a try. Considered.

Won a similar race here over C&D last year (good to soft), from 6lb lower. Won amateur event at Redcar with something in hand on penultimate start. Well held from this mark last time, so more needed, but not written off.

Won a better race here in September (1m1f, heavy), from a 4lb lower mark. Only win since came on AW (1m, Newcastle). Held from this mark latest, but not written off with eyecatching jockey booking.

Sole win was last season at Ayr (7f, good), from this mark. Stays 1m2f. Ran well from this mark last time and should be competitive.

C&D winner on good to soft two years ago. Ended lengthy losing run at Hamilton two starts back, scoring again there last time. Unpenalised for that apprentice success. Claims.

Fast ground C&D winner from 4lb higher last season. Handles good to soft. Held from this mark at Beverley last time, so has a bit to prove now.

6lb better off with Thornaby Nash, whom he was beaten just under 4L by at Redcar last time. However, he is still a maiden after 32 starts on turf. Improvement needed to break his duck.

2lb higher than when scoring at Nottingham (1m½f, good to firm) in June. Also ran well back there from this mark, when 2L third. Bit to prove after last two runs and on soft.

Forecasts

Stubytuesday (5/1), Bollin Ted (5/1), Monsieur Jimmy (11/2), Crazy Tornado (7/1), Size Matters (15/2), Billy Bond (8/1), Amood (8/1), Dark Confidant (8/1), Thornaby Nash (11/1), Foxy Rebel (40/1), Dutch Artist (66/1), Kirkby's Phantom (150/1), Plastiki (150/1)

Verdict

Bollin Ted is interesting now dropped to this stiff 1m, but does have a little bit to prove in terms of speed over this short, while Amood goes well here, but the handicapper may now have his measure. Crazy Tornado is entitled to plenty of respect, while Size Matters should again be competitive. Thornaby Nash is not written off. However, STUBYTUESDAY has a few things going for him here and can make the most of a decent draw.
