Winner of a selling handicap last time out in a race that didn't really go to plan she still showed the requisite class to score. Raised just 3lb for that win she should go well again faced with a slightly more exacting task.

Has shown in the past that he should be effective at this distance but looks to be going the wrong way of late even with the headgear removed. Way below his best last time out he needs to show more here and comes with doubts attached.

Looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper of late but shows little sign of making use of that leniency with his losing run continuing to build. Well below his best in a first-visor on his most recent run with cheekpieces now back on.

15/8
Dual C&D winner who scored in smooth style in the first of those wins before overcoming the run of the race to follow-up last time. Needs a strong pace to aim at to be seen at his best but could be a little better than this grade; aims for hat-trick.

Lightly-raced sort on the Flat who showed little when switched to handicaps last time (first-time tongue-tie). Slowly away she should be suited by this trip but still has something to find on form and off this mark.

Struggling to find any sort of form this year on the Flat (tried in cheekpieces) and looked laboured when last seen over hurdles. Hard to recommend given what he's shown so far this year.

Twice a C&D winner and looking slightly less awkward of late having ended a long losing run here in July. Rather reverted to type since then although didn't run too badly here last time when a close 3rd to Trautmann.

New Abbey Angel8
Age: 5|  Weight: 8-9| J: J Fanning| T: K Dalgleish| OR:  48
5/1
Unreliable type who is best summed up by his career record of 1-43 and despite being well supported and travelling well here last time he once again disappointed behind Trautmann. Not one to trust at least for win purposes.

Forecasts

Trautmann (15/8), Falcon's Fire (9/2), Mac O'Polo (9/2), New Abbey Angel (5/1), Flower Power (8/1), Archipeligo (10/1), Ali The Hunter (50/1), Hayward Field (50/1)

Verdict

TRAUTMANN should probably have won before he actually did but now he’s struck form he should be able to complete a C&D hat-trick with his form around here over this trip reading 311 especially with a few of the others coming into this with question marks hanging over them. Flower Power at least won a race last time even if it was of the selling variety and she looks a danger if reproducing that form. Archipeligo ought to be fare better given his reduced mark but isn’t showing very positive signs and that may allow Falcon’s Fire (a dual C&D winner) to once again secure a place.
  1. Trautmann
  2. Flower Power
  3. Falcon's Fire
