Has won his last two, over 2m on the Flat at the Curragh in June and then over timber at Galway this month. Drops back in trip here but has won over shorter in France as a three-year-old.

Won a valuable Galway Festival handicap (2m1f, yielding) last month off a mark of 81, and was running decent race there next time over timber when brought down. Respected here.

In cracking form last summer but struggled to reproduce that so far this term and was poor in valuable Galway handicap over this trip recently (sent off 66/1). Return to decent surface is a plus.

Arcano filly bolted up on handicap bow at Navan (1m, heavy) in April, raised 9lb and held in two starts thereafter, including over 1m3½f at Limerick. Off since May, best efforts have been with plenty give underfoot.

600,000gns yearling by Galileo, made fair start at the Curragh (1m2f, yielding) in May, improved nicely to win 1m½f Galway Festival maiden this month. Up significantly in trip for this handicap bow.

As good as ever last month at Fairyhouse (1m4f, good to firm) and Leopardstown (1m5f, good to firm), following up close second with tidy win. Races from 5lb higher mark here, not overlooked.

1-13 previously on the Flat, winner over hurdles at Wexford (2m, good) in June but string of poor efforts in that sphere since, latest at Kilbeggan five days ago. Hard to fancy back on the level.

Promising start over 7f at Dundalk in December, didn't build on that in two runs this summer but latest fourth of 10 in a 1m2f Leopardstown maiden was much more promising. Up in trip for handicap bow, one to note.

Forecasts

Astronomer (6/4), Low Sun (2/1), Uradel (6/1), Warnaq (10/1), Song Of Namibia (12/1), The Mouse Doctor (14/1), Fearaun (20/1), Mezajy (50/1)

Verdict

Low Sun has been in super form both over hurdles and on the Flat, and isn't overlooked easily, but this represents a sharp drop in trip and despite winning form in France over shorter in his youth, it is a sizeable change in tact now. Fearaun is a potential improver going handicapping while the same is true of Astronomer, despite the relative concerns over the Ballydoyle string just now. Uradel, the second Mullins runner, is also facing a stiff drop in distance and so THE MOUSE DOCTOR, winner at Leopardstown last time out, holds the vote to follow up having gone up 5lb.
  1. The Mouse Doctor
  2. Low Sun
  3. Astronomer
