Failed to land the hat-trick in a Kilbeggan handicap chase earlier this month. Not seen over timber for the best part of two years where he is two from six. Place claims.
Distance winner who was last seen over hurdles in April 2017 finishing well down the field at Punchestown. One from 12 over timber and market probably the best guide here.
Winner over hurdles in France but will have disappointed connections in a couple of dismal displays since last month for new yard.
Winner of four of his last five hurdle starts including finishing a neck ahead of Second Time Around in a Hexham handicap hurdle in June. Risen 29lb since first win back in March and could be reaching his peak soon.
Flourished since joining new connections winning over the larger obstacles and last time out in casual fashion when landing a Perth handicap hurdle earlier this month. Another bold show looks likely .
Landed the prize in a 16-runner Down Royal handicap hurdle over 2m4f in June off a 12lb lower mark. Beaten since and could be up against it here.
Well held on all four starts over hurdles including on good ground at Punchestown in June and last time out here over a similar trip earlier this month. Expected to fare better now handicapping and with first-time tongue tie to assist.
Course winner of a 2m3f maiden hurdle on good ground off a 4lb higher mark in June before disappointing over 1f further at Sligo last month. Worth a market check on handicap debut.
Well beaten and never nearer in three career starts, all at Wexford before a 24L defeat when finishing seventh of 17 at Cork earlier this month. Unlikely to play a part in the finish.
10-race maiden hurdler who has shown glimmers of promise in his career but not enough to be worthy of consideration in this company.
Forecasts
King's Song (7/2), The Jam Man (5/1), Roi De Dubai (11/2), Sonowyouno (11/2), William Du Berlais (6/1), Maple Lawn (13/2), Slicker City (8/1), First To Boogie (25/1), Shakadame (50/1), Rock On Aussie (66/1)
Only raised 7lb for a facile 15L win at Perth recently, KINGS SONG appears to have been found a perfect opportunity to continue in a winning vein of form here by trainer-Gordon Elliott. The J P McManus-owned Sonowyouno and the fairly consistent Maple Lawn can give the selection the most to think about while The Jam Man and Slicker City are deserving of closer inspection.
- King's Song
- Sonowyouno
- Maple Lawn
