Rated 63 on the Flat but still a maiden in that sphere he made a successful debut over hurdles beating two previous last time out winners at Uttoxeter (2m, soft). Showed a good attitude there but has to give weight away to some better Flat types now.

Tried over at up to 1m3f on the Flat (winning form at up to 7f) this might test his stamina even on a sharp course such as this. Rated 73 on the Flat on that rating he has something to find with Good Boy Alfie.

The best of these on the Flat (rated 85) he was fairly useful in that sphere winning at Hamilton last month over 1m1f. Showed his slightly quirky side last time when well beaten at Ayr; interesting to see how he takes to hurdles.

Modest maiden on the Flat (0-10) who stays well but was only rated 47 and looks vulnerable here unless he improves a great deal for eight flights of hurdles. Hard to fashion a case for him and others are more persuasive.

This basically boils down to a choice between experience and class with the former being supplied by Uttoxeter winner Ormesher and the latter by GOOD BOY ALFIE. Don McCain’s charge did well to win on his debut settling a lot better than he did on the Flat but despite that experience he was rated way inferior to the Keith Dalgleish horse on the Flat and despite his quirks he’s taken to make a winning debut receiving weight. Of the others Ghost Serge would be a doubt on a stamina basis even on this sharp circuit and Surrender looks to have a lot to do if the Flat ratings are to be believed.
