An improved sort for the addition of today's headgear combination for his last three starts (won two of those). His latest win came over C&D (beat Ofcourseiwill narrowly) but now 7lb worse off with that one at the weights; needs to improve again.

Had shown a little aptitude over hurdles when with Brian Ellison and built on a Flat outing to get off the mark over hurdles for this yard (his 3rd attempt overall). Ran with credit last time (4th) but will need to cut out any errors here.

Looks more at home since making the running over hurdles winning at Bangor in May in a novice handicap and ran well when just touched off by Mac Tottie over C&D. Tried over fences since (back in trip) but looks off a tough mark in that sphere.

Showed little on his one run for Harry Fry in a Wincanton novice (looked green) before finishing 4th in this last year (beaten over 34L). Offered little more on that occasion and now returns after that long absence against some race-fit types.

Makes his debut for a local trainer after he won the last of his three Irish point-to-point starts (made all at Kinsale). Quite appealing on his pedigree and worth a look at in the market given his connections.

Took seven runs to come good in Irish point-to-points (stayed on strongly to win at Ballingarry in a maiden). Was pulled-up in four of his seven starts in that sphere also but sold for £20,000 in August; debut over hurdles (yard do well here).
Fair sort on the Flat (winner over 1m6f) and appears to need this sort of trip over hurdles having had a couple of goes so far. Looks the sort more for handicaps though and needs this run for a mark; worth a look in the market.

Forecasts

Ofcourseiwill (13/8), Mac Tottie (15/8), Big Time Dancer (9/2), Sheriff Garrett (10/1), Trumps Benefit (10/1), Fiercly Forgie (14/1), Leannes Lady (66/1), Dubh Des Champs (100/1)

Verdict

On official ratings OFCOURSEIWILL is scheduled to gain his revenge on Mac Tottie from their meeting here last month and the weights do favour Don McCain’s charge this time but it should be close between the two. However they aren’t the only two in this with Sheriff Garrett looking as though he can win races over hurdles and given his propensity for staying trips on the Flat this trip should suit him better. Big Time Dancer needs to brush up his jumping a little to take a hand with the two newcomers from stables that do well here Fiercely Fergie and Trumps Benefit worth a look in the market.
  1. Ofcourseiwill
  2. Mac Tottie
  3. Sheriff Garrett
