Started the season well on the AW with a win and a second, has failed to beat a rival home in previous two starts on turf however. Given short break but watching brief seems safest.

Victorious in a four-runner contest over 1m2f trip at Brighton (good to firm) at the end of May. Poor in both runs since, including over this trip and now having first run for yard that's going well after leaving Philip Hide.

Has a 7-46 record and has been placed on eight other occasions, latest win at Chepstow (1m2f, soft) in June off a mark of 70. Poor both starts since, including last time out here. Up in trip.

Lightly-raced filly, won over C&D last month, most recently spotted looking as good as ever with AW score at Newcastle over slightly further. Player again despite career-high mark.

Broke his maiden in first-time blinkers on the Fibresand at Southwell in November then spent 275 days off, shaped with some promise on return at Salisbury (1m2f, good) 10 days ago before tiring, should be sharper for that.

Disappointing on last few starts over hurdles for David Pipe, and soundly beaten in two Flat starts for current yard. C&D winner in 2014 but plenty to prove on balance now.

Both career wins have been on the AW, though shaped well enough in four turf starts. Good effort on seasonal bow at Chepstow (1m, good to firm) last month, then second over 1m2f at Newbury off this mark. Tackles new trip now.

Forecasts

Cross My Mind (6/4), Second Page (9/2), Reckless Wave (13/2), Carp Kid (7/1), Becky Sharp (8/1), Essenaitch (9/1), Archimento (10/1), Tobacco Road (40/1)

Verdict

SECOND PAGE might be worth chancing here, having shaped well for most of the journey on seasonal bow at Salisbury before tiring late on. He'll be sharper for the run and has a promising racing weight with his claiming rider. Cross My Mind produced a career-best when scoring on the AW last time out and the previous C&D winner must enter calculations back here. Archimento needs to perk up for a change of scenery, while Carp Kid can be a danger if seeing out this new trip.
