6/1

Returned to form with a victory in a 1m2f amateur riders contest at Pontefract (good-to-firm) earlier this month. Interesting despite a 5lb rise in the weights.

Form: 169-851

(6)

Visitant⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-7| J: Ella McCain⁽³⁾| T: D Thompson| OR: 74| D

6/1

Beaten 11L when third over this trip at Pontefract last month. Held subsequently and more needed if he's to take this contest.

Form: 077538

(3)

Restive¹²

Age: 5| Weight: 9-12| J: Miss C Walton| T: J S Goldie| OR: 65| CD

12/1

Well held when debuting for this yard in a 1m handicap at Ayr (good) recently. Step back up in trip in his favour and worth a check in the market.

Form: 17-3566

(8)

Dose²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-11| J: Miss Nicole Wright⁽⁷⁾| T: R A Fahey| OR: 64| D

16/1

Dual winner earlier this year but struggled at Beverley (1m2f, good-to-soft) at the end of last month when returning from a break. Quicker ground forecast here should suit.

Form: 317137

(7)

Island Song¹⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Ms S Brotherton| T: T Davidson| OR: 61| D

5/4

Victorious on all three starts since joining this yard including by 2L at Carlisle (1m1f, good-to-firm) nearly three weeks ago. Leading contender despite racing off a 5lb higher mark.

Form: 889111

(1)

Bollin Joan^p⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: Mrs Emily Roberts| T: T D Easterby| OR: 66| D

7/2

Stepping up in trip when finishing third in her hat-trick bid at Catterick (1m4f, good-to-firm) last week. Won under this jockey prior to that and is one to note once more.

Form: 632113

(4)

Scottsdale^p1¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 9-5| J: Miss L Wilson⁽³⁾| T: B Ellison| OR: 58

25/1

Dual bumper winner in 2017 but struggled since switching to the Flat and probably best watched down in trip having been beaten 27L at Carlisle (2m1f, good-to-firm) last time.

Form: 6-73636

(2)

I'm Yer Man²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Amie Waugh| T: P A Kirby| OR: 65

33/1

Sole success came in a 7f novice event at Chelmsford last December. Held on all four starts this term and others hold stronger claims.

Form: 1-67450

(5)

Magnum^t¹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-2| J: Shannon Watts⁽⁷⁾| T: S Corbett| OR: 55

100/1

19 race maiden and beaten 17L over an extended 1m4f at Musselburgh (good) two weeks ago. Probably best watched at present.

Form: 663/069

Non-Runners

(10)

Gworn¹⁴

Weight: 10-5| Age: 8

T: R M Smith J: Mrs C Bartley

Forecasts

Island Song (5/4), Bollin Joan (7/2), Visitant (6/1), First Dance (6/1), Gworn (7/1), Restive (12/1), Dose (16/1), Scottsdale (25/1), I'm Yer Man (33/1), Magnum (100/1)

ISLAND SONG has been in great form since joining this yard and she can record a fourth victory with leading amateur jockey Serena Brotherton in the saddle. The selection has the trip and ground to suit once more and can see off Bollin Joan who should appreciate the return to this distance while third can go to Dose who should appreciate the return to forecast good ground. having disappointed last time
