Lost his way in Group company after beating First Nation in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, but back in the groove now, and placed in valuable handicaps at Haydock and Ascot this term. One to bear in mind.
Not long with current yard, and right back to form when ¾L second of 10 to Cleonte in 2m handicap at Ascot last time. Helped by a hood there (races freely), and drop in trip should also aid his chances.
Career best at Haydock in June and showed current mark may not be beyond him at Windsor next time out; not at best last twice, and has found this trip stretching him on previous runs.
Losing run now stretches to 14, but plenty of good efforts in that time, and back to form when third to Cleonte and stablemate Stars Over The Sea at Ascot (2m) last time. Not easy to dismiss.
Had produced some solid performances in defeat before routing his field in a weak C&D handicap in July. Ran a shocker at Pontefract last time, but easy enough to forgive that effort in isolation, and may well bounce back.
Now 7lb lower than when fifth in a big field here in May, and has had excuses since. Hinted at a revival on last two starts, and appeals as the type to relish this step up from 1½m.
Won on debut for current yard and put a run of heavy defeats behind him with a win over this trip at Ascot last month. Flopped there last time, though, and profile is very patchy.

Atty Persse (2/1), Sofia's Rock (7/2), Stars Over The Sea (9/2), Eddystone Rock (7/1), Cosmelli (7/1), Star Of The East (8/1), Byron Flyer (9/1), Machine Learner (16/1)
Ian Williams has a strong hand with Ascot second and third Stars Over The Sea and Byron Flyer both respected, while Atty Persse has made the frame in strong handicaps the last twice, but they could all find themselves vulnerable to the well-treated EDDYSTONE ROCK, who has been better than recent results imply, and promises to be well suited by this test.
- Eddystone Rock
- Atty Persse
