Group 3 C&D winner who, following a progressive last campaign, resumed winning ways in the Group 2 Summer Mile. Unsuited by a slow tempo on his latest run over this C&D in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes and sets the standard.

Has run to a good and consistent standard in four runs this year, successfully targeting a Group 3 at Saint-Cloud and German Group 2. Ran runner-up to Benbatl in a German Group 1 last month but extra required here and would prefer soft ground.

Twice a Group winner back in 2015 and didn't quite hit the same heights when moving to Chris Waller in Australia. Returned to these shores in decent form in Listed company but this is much tougher.

Recent runner-up in Group 3 Sovereign Stakes and goes well at this track including a fourth in this race last year. Arguably in better form this time around and as a consistent performer holds place possibilities.

Rattled off a five-timer in South Africa, culminating with a win in Group 1 company but has since struggled in a Group 2 at Newmarket and was well held in Group 1 Jebel Hatta when last seen in March. Looks a tough ask on stable debut.

A length and a place behind Oh This Is Us at Salisbury on ground that wouldn't have suited. Would have preferred quicker ground still here but has finished a close second in the last two renewals and likely to be competitive again.

Talented filly who won a Listed contest over this C&D before following up in German 1000 Guineas. Well held in Group 1 Falmouth Stakes before not being disgraced in Group 1 at Arlington. This looks a tough ask though against her elders.

Altyn Orda43
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: David Egan| T: R Varian| OR:  112
10/3
Ran fifth in the 1000 Guineas before being unsuited by soft ground in France on her only start away from Newmarket. Took another step forward behind Alpha Centauri in the Falmouth that would make her a leading player.

Forecasts

Beat The Bank (11/8), Altyn Orda (10/3), Zonderland (6/1), Stormy Antarctic (10/1), Arod (10/1), Oh This Is Us (12/1), Nyaleti (14/1), Whisky Baron (20/1)

Verdict

Beat The Bank should be a worthy favourite at a track that he goes well at and providing he gets a strong pace to aim at can make a bold bid. Zonderland has gone close twice in this and can be involved once again along with Oh This Is Us who was two places behind in last year's renewal. Three-year-old runners have a strong record in this race and a chance is taken that ALTYN ORDA, who posted a career best behind the brilliant Alpha Centauri at Newmarket, can continue on an upward curve on ground that should prove ideal.
  1. Altyn Orda
  2. Beat The Bank
  3. Zonderland
