Just the one run this season for this the veteran of the piece and ran well enough in it finishing midfield over 6½f at Listowel. As effective over this trip but absence suggests he might need this run for fitness.

Dundalk AW winner peculiarly stepped up massively to 1m2f latest and clearly didn't stay. None from 15 on turf and form overall has been better over 6f plus so others make more appeal.

Won a heavy ground 28 runner handicap over C&D back in May. Not built on that since but this likely to be the softest ground since his victory and off just 3lb higher he could be ready to make a bold bid.

Not won since his debut last April. Had three quick races since returning recently and kept up to his work again here. Drop to 5f not necessarily a positive but may appreciate it if the ground is on the testing side.

Dual winner for William Haggas but had almost as many new trainers as starts since. Last in all three starts for previous yard has meant his mark now is lenient but hard to guess what to expect overall.

Made belated return when winning first handicap over 6f at Dundalk on the AW earlier this month. Should be fitter now and open to improvement but 10lb higher and faces 5f for the first time.

5f Down Royal winner two starts ago but despite only being raised 3lb she completely flopped here in similar conditions subsequently finishing last of 14. Hard to forget such a run.

Having a fine time of it this term winning three times including two of her last three. Won over C&D on good ground latest and seems to relish big fields. Handicapper again ups the pressure but leading contender once more.

Ran best race of the season when second to Gopsies Daughter over C&D latest. 4lb better off with that rival here for ¾L defeat so very real chance of reversal. Versatile ground-wise so should be a leading contender regardless.

Maiden of nine starts has raced exclusively at 7f plus this term and never tried 5f in his career so far. Ran well two starts back but flopped latest so enough excuses to overlook him here.

Won at Bellewstown in July but well beaten by Gopsies Daughter twice since off 5lb higher mark. Handicapper elects to delay any assistance so hard to fancy here.

Maiden of 11 starts returned from 320 day absence to chase home Gopsies Daughter over C&D, eventually finishing seventh. Should strip fitter today so will be hoping to be involved.

Pulled up in two recent races over hurdles and you have go back almost three years to find his most recent win over 5f at Musselburgh. Unlikely to be sharp enough for this test and 4lb out of the handicap.

Ran a career best latest over 6f here when headed late on and a close eighth (of 30) behind A Likely Story. That form decent but enthusiasm tempered by her being 4lb out of the handicap.

Ran a couple of decent races at Navan in June but not as good since and this 14-race maiden isn't likely to be getting off the mark any time soon.

That his recent eight of 14 on the AW at Dundalk represented a career best tells you all you need to know. Relatively lightly raced but no suggestion he's good enough to win a race.

Verdict

BLASTOFMAGIC has done little wrong since winning at Naas back in June and Colin Keane's mount looks well capable of getting another win before the season's out and he gets the vote here. Many of these have seen the back of Gopsies Daughter this campaign and this in form mare should again be in the thick of things although Little Clarinet must have a pretty good chance of turning the tables here with their respective revised weights.
  1. Blastofmagic
  2. Little Clarinet
  3. Gopsies Daughter
