Won this race last year off 4lb lower mark but has run poorly on all five starts under both codes since last October although probably didn't stay the extended trip here in May. Inexperienced rider but not without a chance if back on song.
Won 6-30 most recently scoring at Aintree over extended in October off 2lb lower mark than here. Run poorly three times here this summer and suspicion this locally trained mare might not be in love with this venue.
Landed maiden hurdle over C&D in June then won with plenty to spare on Flat at Carlisle last time. In form and goes handicapping for first time over feasible mark so is very interesting.
Fourth, beaten just one length here over fences in July. Only win came over hurdles at Warwick in March 2016. Now 1lb lower and won't be far away on balance of form for good yard.
Makes debut for new yard having accrued a bumper win and two handicap hurdle successes over the last three seasons. Absent 105 days but has gone well fresh in past so worth a market check.
Maiden but has shown some ability although disappointed when made favourite last time at Sedgefield in May in novice hurdle. Handicap debut now and represents a fine yard so worth a second glance.
Been a fine servant to connections winning 10 races, mainly for previous handler Dianne Sayer. Hasn't shown much though in five outings for current handler and on recent evidence may find this tough.
No great shakes for previous connections but has won both starts for new connections at Uttoxeter and Carlisle. Raised 10lb in total for this successes so this will be tougher but should make a bold bid for the hat-trick.
Forecasts
Rubenesque (11/8), Martha's Benefit (3/1), River Icon (9/2), Bon Chic (9/1), Chantara Rose (10/1), Tickerty Boo (16/1), Ten Trees (16/1), Gold Chain (50/1)
RUBENESQUE has been in winning form under both codes fo late and is taken to make a winning debut in handicap company. There are a number of dangers, including last year's winner of this race River Icon who clearly goes well here. Chantara Rose went very close over fences here last month and is respected along with the hat-trick seeker Martha's Benefit who bids to maintain a 100% record for her new handler. Tickerty Boo has yet to win a race but is interesting on handicap bow.
- Rubenesque
- River Icon
