Has been in decent form all season, picking up wins at Windsor (6f, good) and more recently Chelmsford (7f, AW). Not as good up in grade last time. Has a bit to prove now, but back at this level he is not ruled out.
French 7f winner on soft last year and went close in a Bath conditions event (5½f, heavy) in March. Well below that level in all three starts since, and despite looking well treated now, he has plenty to prove.
Not always consistent, but has been making a steady overall improvement this term, borne out by his Thirsk win (1m, good) last time. Up 6lb for that and in a more competitive race, so will need to up his game to follow-up.
C&D winner in June, when 14lb lower. Also scored from 6lb lower at Chepstow two starts ago. Both those wins were on fast ground, but of more concern was her defeat last time, which suggested that the handicapper may now have caught up with her.
Beat Mister Musicmaster (runs in the 5.15) ¾L in a C&D apprentice handicap here last time, so escapes a penalty. Up in grade this time, but was in control then and has to enter calculations again this time.
This does not look to be a very strong contest and CRYSTAL CASQUE might be up to making a successful step up in grade after her C&D win last time. Her form could be boosted by the second that day, who runs earlier on the card. Quick Breath can't be ruled out now back down in grade, while Jackpot Royale is a probable danger, with Glamorous Dream having a bit to prove.
