45,000gns by yearling by Camacho out of a dam who won over 1m-1m4f. Trainer not known for two-year-old success particularly first time up so best watched here.

Newcomer by Australia cost 500,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to seven winners including two at pattern level over 1m3f-1m6f. Will want further in time but attractive pedigree for a trainer capable of readying one first time out.

$250,000 yearling by Scat Daddy is a half-brother to three winners including a 7f-1m Listed scorer. Trainer doesn't have many two-year-olds but does well with them and this one has a speedy pedigree so merits market check.

Newcomer by Iffraaj cost 100,000gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to four winners over 7f-2m. Trainer not had a two-year-old winner this season from just seven runners but is in fine form with his older horses.

Looked a very difficult ride in two starts to date and pulled very hard latest before veering violently left and blowing any chance. The wide expanses of this course are therefore concerning and he's easily passed over.

Tailed off sixth of seven here on debut at odds of 100/1. Huge improvement needed and that seems very unlikely for a trainer who wins very rarely with two-year-olds.

Slowly away and beaten 12½L into ninth of 12 on debut at Doncaster last month. Much improvement needed on that effort to play any significant role here.

Mukhadram colt cost 48,000 as a foal. Looked well on debut but could only manage eighth of 12. Trainer's two-year-olds progress from their first race so should fare better today.

Second on debut over C&D and third next up at Salisbury before pitched in at the deep end in Group Two Vintage Stakes and unsurprisingly struggled. Leading chance back at this level and has probably the best form on offer.

Newcomer by Mastercraftsman cost 150,000gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to a 7f winner. Trainer's juveniles generally improve for their first run so best watched unless market says otherwise.

Exceed And Excel colt cost €190,000 as a two-year-old and is a half-brother to a 1m4f-1m6f winner and a 1m-1m1f winner. Looks pick of stable's pair on jockey bookings so worth keeping a close eye on the betting.

Newcomer by Kingman who has had a fine start with two-year-olds and a half-brother to a 1m two-year-old winner from the exceptional family of top-sire Dansili. Trainer yet to have a two-year-old winner but always respected nonetheless.

£10,000 yearling by Fast Company is half-brother to three ordinary winners from 5f-1m4f. Yard not known for two-year-old success and much less so first time out so best watched for now.

Verdict

Of the seven with raceform Richard Hannon's MORDRED has achieved comfortably the most with sound efforts here and at Salisbury before tilting at windmills latest in a Goodwood Group Two. Newcomers may offer the sternest opposition although the selection sets the bar pretty high for them. Bangkok makes the most appeal of the debut makers and this son of Australia represents Andrew Balding who is in good form with his juveniles at present. Arabian King will have to make a big step up on his debut effort but this very well bred colt looks the sort capable of doing so.

  3. Arabian King
