His last three runs in Ireland set the standard and the pick came at this trip when beaten 1L into fourth at Fairyhouse (third won next time). Does not quite get 7f so this trip and uphill climb should be ideal.
Delegator colt, half-brother to six winners including a Listed winner over this trip as a juvenile and two more winning sprinters. Dam a half-sister to a US Grade 3 winner. No show on debut and blinkered for reappearance.
Modest form to date but his sire's stock like a bit of give in the ground and this will be the first time he has been tried on it.
Cost 32,000 gns and a half-brother to the useful sprinter Certificate. Too backward to do himself justice on debut and sire's progeny are happier with some cut underfoot.
Unraced colt by Gregorian purchased for 26,000 gns at the breeze-up sales in April. Stable just 1-36 in last two weeks.
Kodiac half-brother to Group 2 winner Royal Youmzain, Listed winner Zuhoor Baynoona and smart hurdler Saglawy. Yard normally have this owner's horses ready on debut and no surprise to see him post a big run.
Invincible Spirit colt related to four winner including Group 3 winning sprinter Mabs Cross. Signs lately that the yard's juveniles are starting to deliver and he warrants a market check.
€50,000 half-sister to eight winners across Europe including eight-time winner Buccellatti who won eight races on all types of ground. Stable 15-44 with this age group here since 2014 and produced a newcomer to win a division of this race last year.
Related to a winning miler so probably ready for this trip. Best run undoubtedly came on second start when making the hot favourite work hard. That form looks good enough but she never looked happy at Beverley last month.
Readily outpaced at a big price on Catterick debut and faces an even sterner test here over a trip which still looks too short.
Easy to back on debut and ran accordingly. In a race with plenty of depth and she needs to improve considerably.
Forecasts
Hello Youmzain (9/4), Arabic Channel (5/2), Cheerupmylove (7/1), Chasing The Rain (9/1), Samlesbury (10/1), Grey Appeal (10/1), Collegian (12/1), Vigorito (14/1), Cognac Blue (25/1), Boll Weevil (80/1), Leebellnsummerbee (100/1)
There are a few to watch in this with an eye to the future and the market could prove very informative. Irish challenger Arabic Channel sets a good standard with a mark of 81 but there are doubts about the ground. The Fahey pair, Collegian and Cognac Blue, are open to improvement now getting soft ground whilst Cheerupmylove is hard to assess given that her latest run is not good enough. Samlesbury, Chasing The Rain and HELLO YOUMZAIN are newcomers with appealing pedigrees. The latter is preferred with his yard having a good year with this age group and the trainer's record with the owners debutants.
- Hello Youmzain
- Samlesbury
