20/1
Won a mares bumper at Fakenham in February 2016, and runner-up in a Chelmsford (1m5f+) maiden in October 2016, but modest in two runs following a lengthy absence and off the track again since early February.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-6| J: Ryan Tate| T: Sir Mark Prescott| OR:  67
6/1
Runner-up over 1m2f on her penultimate start at Lingfield, and posted a reasonable effort over 1m4f at Newcastle latest; evidently not a stable star, but a likely player nevertheless in first-time blinkers.

Improving, and went down fighting when beaten narrowly by Contebasse on second start in a handicap at Doncaster (1m4f, good to firm) last month; up 2lb, but a major player in this lesser contest.

Go Foxh15

Ran his best race to date when tackling an extended 1m3f at Windsor earlier this month, finishing 4½L fourth to Doctor Jazz; more required, but unexposed so therefore not dismissed.

Voluminous21
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: George Wood| T: J R Fanshawe| OR:  65
9/1
Comfortably held third of five behind a progressive type of Sir Mark Prescott's over 1m2f (good) here last month, and steps back up in trip seeking much more from a 5lb lower mark.

Horse silk
Tinker Tailor151
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-1| J: Cameron Noble(5)| T: D P Quinn| OR:  54

Nine-race maiden; off the track since March and little to enthuse over bar a respectable fourth placed AW run at Kempton (1m4f) on her penultimate start.

Horse silk
Bunker Hill Lad22
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-13| J: Theodore Ladd(5)| T: M Appleby| OR:  60
50/1
No worthwhile form whatsoever in four career starts, including when finishing last of 11 over an extended mile at Wolverhampton last month.

Navajo Squaw81
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: David Egan| T: E A L Dunlop| OR:  58

33/1 and always in rear on handicap debut at Doncaster in June (1m2f, good to firm); absent since, but by Derby winner Sir Percy is bred to be suited by this longer trip, so no surprise if she takes a step forward today.

Miss Paris137
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: Hayley Turner| T: M L W Bell| OR:  56
12/1
No show in three 7f runs, but upped in trip from a fair opening handicap mark and bred to be better suited by this trip (by Champs Elysees out of a 1m2f placed mare Bantu).

The Fiddler15
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: Hollie Doyle| T: C F Wall| OR:  56

Ran to a similar level of form on all six starts, including over this trip at Windsor recently (sixth of 11); shouldn't prove strong enough.

Buxlow Belle18
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-3| J: J Quinn| T: D Menuisier| OR:  50
14/1
Didn't look to be all that straightforward when finishing 7L fourth of ten on handicap debut over 1m4f at Newmarket recently, and whilst still early days is essentially disappointing at €40,000 as a yearling.

Star Of Assisi9
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-1| J: Noel Garbutt(3)| T: J Ryan| OR:  45
80/1
Very modest form so far (7f-1m3f+); on paper this is essentially her grade, but she's still predicted to struggle.

Forecasts

Encryption (6/4), Special Mission (6/1), The Fiddler (6/1), Go Fox (8/1), Voluminous (9/1), Miss Paris (12/1), Buxlow Belle (14/1), Potters Lady Jane (20/1), Navajo Squaw (50/1), Bunker Hill Lad (50/1), Tinker Tailor (50/1), Star Of Assisi (80/1)

Verdict

Both Navajo Squaw and Miss Paris make appeal on pedigree as types who will relish this step up in trip in a very winnable looking maiden handicap, but others with more solid form claims include Special Mission, Go Fox and ENCRYPTION. The selection should prove capable of winning a race off this mark judged upon the strength of his 1m4f handicap efforts so far, the latest of which was a pleasing run behind the Tim Easterby-trained Contrebasse at Doncaster in July.
