Has shown much improved form of late since being switched to sprint trips. Is now 9lb higher than when winning here over C&D two starts back but still has potential over the minimum distance and another solid effort is highly possible.
Starts life with a new yard but not always the most reliable and straightforward of individuals. Often races freely and can hang (to the left) so not an easy ride and best watched coming back from an absence.
Having won twice over 6f earlier in the year he did well to come off the pace to win at Beverley over 5f last time. Only nudged up 3lbs in the weights and a chance there may be more to come.
Won off this mark on good-to-soft ground at Thirsk last August but things have not gone to plan since. Should be cherry ripe on the fitness front now though after a couple of runs and a bounce back to form would be no surprise.
C&D winner back in the day but this veteran's form has fallen through the floor of late. Tumbling down the weights as a result so whilst you can make a good case from a handicapping perspective, recent form leaves something to be desired.
Another previous C&D winner (this race last year) who isn't having the best time of things in 2018. Starting to look dangerously well handicapped as a result so any market confidence would probably be significant in repeat bid.
Shown improved form the last twice and went close when second of 14 at Thirsk (6f) on soft ground last week. Races off the same mark down to the minimum trip here and likely to be a leading contender once more.
Won here over C&D off a 2lb lower mark back in July but not been quite so good since. This is a higher grade and a tougher race than the one he won so will need to produce a career best to get his head in front today.
After a break he has returned with two solid efforts of late. Closley matched with Zig Zag Zyggy on their meeting here in July. This previous C&D winner is entitled to be thereabouts once more if taking another step forward.
Mark is slowly falling having been well held in recent stars over 6f at Ayr. This is much more his ideal trip though and he is now running off a fairly attractive mark. Would be no surprise were he to bounce back to form here.
Previous C&D winner who was having his first run back from a long absence when beaten 7L at Ayr last week. Should come on for that but likely to find a couple of these too sharp all the same.
Forecasts
Guardia Svizzera (2/1), Zig Zag Zyggy (5/2), Our Place In Loule (8/1), Mable Lee (8/1), Highly Focussed (10/1), Star Cracker (12/1), One Boy (14/1), Camanche Grey (16/1), Piazon (25/1), Dutch Dream (40/1), I'll Be Good (50/1)
Zig Zag Zyggy has been in terrific form since switching to sprinting with the visor on and is very much respected once again. One Boy and I'll Be Good are both lurking on dangerous marks so any market support for them would need noting. Preference on this occasion is for GUARDIA SVIZZERA who has been running himself into form of late and looks ready to strike now.
- Guardia Svizzera
- Zig Zag Zyggy
- One Boy
