Back to winning ways (returned to this level) at Redcar nine days ago, recording his fourth win on turf since April; more on his plate off 6lb higher, but has conditions in his favour.
Consistent since returning from a break in June (2,3,2), and competes off his last winning mark (AW); likely to make his usual honest bid to make all, but likely to prove vulnerable inside the final furlong.
Game C&D winner in June (by a nose), and has held his form well since between 7f and 1m; however, remains 4lb above his last winning mark and needs to achieve a new career personal best to score.
Lightly raced filly who made all to blitz her rivals by 8L at Lingfield last month (7f novice median auction); not strong enough on handicap debut at Newmarket subsequently and eased in grade here, but faces competition for the lead from Easy Tiger.
Goes particularly well at Doncaster (turf) and Chelmsford (AW), but held his own in a tight knit affair over C&D last month (finished third to Plunger); respected despite a slight rise in the weights.
Not progressed since winning at Lingfield in May (7f, good), and still 5lb above that winning mark; possibility that soft ground wasn't ideal latest (although had handled it adequately in the past); others more convincing.
Slowly easing back down the weights, and now just 1lb higher than for his C&D win in June (beat fifteen other rivals); however, has work to do in order to reverse placings with Presidential from Redcar (despite 6lb better terms).
Twice a winner over 6f at Lingfield (turf and AW), but has came up short so far in handicap company over vastly differing trips (5f and 7f); not fully exposed, but equally doesn't appear to be leniently treated either.
Both wins have come on the Roodeye at Chester, a track which couldn't be any more dissimilar to Leicester; 8lb higher than when winning in July (7½f, good), and perhaps is ideally suited by softer ground than is forecast.
Forecasts
Chai Chai (3/1), Easy Tiger (4/1), Presidential (9/2), Areen Heart (15/2), Del Parco (8/1), Welliesinthewater (9/1), Firmdecisions (11/1), Dragon Moon (16/1), Blizzard (25/1)
The handicapper seemingly has the majority of these horses within his grasp, with not a single runner appearing to be open to masses of improvement from their current mark. Therefore, the top-weight PRESIDENTIAL could prove capable of carrying 6lb extra to success, and in the process record a fifth handicap success of the calendar year. A decent pace looks likely throughout, with the likes of Easy Tiger, Blizzard and Welliesinthewater all capable of going on from the outset.
- Presidential
- Easy Tiger
- Areen Heart
