Had looked the sort to improve when handicapping (especially with this yard) but that's no proved the case. Handed a stiff opening mark he's been pulled up on both his starts in this sphere and more help in the weights is needed.

In good form of late but three runner-up slots in the last the last three starts tell their own story about how weak her finishing effort is. Brought back to hurdles last time but he response (or lack of it) was the same; unsafe for win purposes.

Headgear and a tongue-tie are now called having shown ability in previous starts and indeed looked one to be interested in after her first handicap start. Bred to be suited by further than this she's still worth in the market for a positive move.

Built on a decent run at Perth when coming back from an absence to edge home at Hexham in June over 2m. Two runs since have been way below that form and she's now tried over further in a bid to find some spark.

Back from a long break with his usual headgear removed he offered little last time out at Worcester over this trip. That didn't really prove that he retains his ability and can only be watched here.

Returned to some sort of form on his handicap debut over hurdles despite the fact he's never been overly convincing in this sphere. Not sure to be anywhere near that level of form this time around though and looks an unsafe proposition.

Chase winner in the past at Ffos Las off a 14lb higher mark but hasn't come close to that level of form since and made little impression here over further on his latest start. Ought to be able to make an impression off this mark but far from sound.

Much more consistent that most in this field that commodity will prove a positive in terms of performance but it does help the handicapper keep him where he wants him. Ran another sound race over 2m7f here last time; place chance over shorter.

Majority of his efforts are of modest quality; turned in his best performance last time when 4th at Market Rasen in a weak contest. Still to win a race and will need to be a poor contest for him to pick one up; mark falling sharply though.

Well held in bumpers she's hardly made much of an impression over hurdles having been well beaten in all her four starts over timber. Now goes handicapping but the mark looks high enough on what's she achieved so far.

Had looked the sort to take a step forward in handicaps but that proved far from being the case at Cartmel on his debut in this discipline. Hard to blame the trip and just looked out of sorts and dropped 4lb plus down in trip.

Busy of late but there has been little of no sign of that activity seeing her take a step forward in terms of form and she remains a maiden over hurdles (0-12). Has won on the Flat but the last of those victories was over two years ago now.

Incredibly well weighted on the form he showed when with Willie Mullins in Ireland if he ever did return to anything approaching that form. Hard to fashion a case in reality on his latest form but would be dangerous if coming back to life.

Attracted a little interest on his handicap debut but did little on that occasion to encourage further future support and has done little of note since. Hard to say he's unexposed anymore and looks limited in what he will achieve.

Plummeting down the handicap (rated 112 at this time last year) but showing very little sign of taking advantage. Tongue-tie now returns but hard to see how he's going to end this long losing run.

Verdict

On the whole it’s very hard to find one that has a solid profile here with several looking to be very badly treated by the handicapper and others just simply not in form. Pretty Reckless would fit into neither of those categories but her problem is that she is a very weak finisher and can’t be trusted to see out her race even with the blinkers on for the first time. Handy Hollow is a consistent sort but looks held off this mark and it’s the Jennie Candlish trained pair Candlelight Story and FOR JIM that hold the most interest. The former would probably be better over further while the latter should have won her when well supported a few runs ago and get the chance to make amends now.
  1. For Jim
  2. Pretty Reckless
  3. Candlelight Story
