Won one of her four AW starts this winter and improved to win on turf debut at Nottingham in May. Just respectable efforts since, but those runs came in stronger races, and she has every chance back in calmer waters.
Won a 7f AW claimer at Lingfield in April for Archie Watson, and seemed to improve when 2¼L second of 4 to Elysium Dream in a handicap at Brighton last time. Needs to show she can build on that., though.
$320,000 half-sister to Flying Childers winner Requinto. Off the mark at the third attempt in a weak affair at Yarmouth last time, but made hard work of it there, and no surprise to see her tried in blinkers now.
Produced a career-best effort when easily winning a 1m apprentice handicap here in June. Has found life tougher off revised mark since, and handicapper slow to relent. Possible return to this venue will spark a revival, however.
Ran well at Windsor on return, but hampered by slow starts in handicaps since, albeit not beaten far when fifth of 9 to Kraka at Yarmouth last time. Easing in the weights, and not ruled out under promising claimer.
Best effort in qualifying runs over 7f/1m when fifth of 9 to Smooth Sailing here on debut, and likely to do better now handicapping, with the drop to 6f a help based on how she's been shaping of late.
Runner-up off 1lb higher at Windsor in June, and would go close if reproducing that effort, but she has been well below her best in two subsequent runs, and is a risky proposition as a result.
Forecasts
Black Sails (9/4), L'Explora (7/2), Belated Breath (4/1), Wicked Sea (5/1), Dusty (13/2), Firenze Rosa (11/1), Copilot (12/1)
BELATED BREATH has been competing in much better races of late, and the drop to 0-70 class gives her a chance to get back to winning ways. She's preferred to L'Explora, who has an attractive profile, and appeals as the type to take to blinkers having made her rider work for victory at Yarmouth last time. Copilot isn't badly treated for her handicap debut, and she could benefit from the drop in trip having been campaigned at up to a mile.
- Belated Breath
- L'Explora
- Copilot
